Jeopardy

What is the point of these celebrity hosts? Shouldn't they be auditioning people that might actually be the next host? I wouldn't mind Jennings or the guy that followed him

I believe it will eventually be Jennings the guy that was after him is Jeopardy's executive producer who also hosted game shows in the past on the game show network.

IDK what other people's reasons are but Jeopardy is an intellectual show and Dr. Oz is a quack who peddles fake science and medicine, and it seems like he would hurt their cred. I'm actually pretty shocked he was invited to do it.

I thought that Dr. Oz did a fantastic job last night, though there's obviously no way that Jeopardy! can hire someone so "polarizing" as its host. The show's Facebook page has always been incredibly curious, a true melting pot of political ideologies and perceived levels of intellect relative to what I'd expect to find (and observe on the serious Jeopardy! fan forums, frankly), but it simply isn't in the show's best interest to select a host that's going to upset a faction of its fanbase; there's no one in the world who'd be appealing to absolutely everyone, but that doesn't mean you just say "**** it" and hire someone who's objectively controversial.

I liked Mike Richards a lot because I feel that you'd be hard-pressed to find a more neutral candidate from a pool of famous people, and Ken's immense success as a contestant has seemingly overshadowed his political bent. If you want a host who defends the show's intellectual "purity," Katie Couric has to be out as it's very hard to picture her pulling anything but a Marge Simpson if she were competing on the program. If they don't go with Ken, and it certainly seems as if the job is his should he want it, I'd assume that Mayim Bialik (or Savannah Guthrie, if Mayim is really bad for whatever reason) will be the show's pick.

I think I'll check these out we haven't watched the show in this house since the Friday before Katie Couric took over.

Katie Couric was too stiff. Ken Jennings, too quiet.

I just have to face that I'll be skeptical of anyone not Trebek. No one like him. The depth of voice, the both professionalism mixed with sly comedy, the humanity. He had it all.

Katie Couric was awkward the first few nights she hosted but by the end of her stint was relaxed and comfortable.’

I know Aaron loves the game and tried, but his voice just isn't good for hosting a game show. I had trouble watching him at all.
