I have no doubt that Mr. Foley is an upright man and an excellent AD, but one has to wonder that the move of the LSU/ UF game to Baton Rouge was nixed primarily due to the increased possibility of a loss. His reasoning makes sense to some extent but the precedent was set last year and apparently the offer to move was made prior to the time frame indicated in his press conference.

There is no wondering, this was done on purpose and I will not listen to anything otherwise. LSU offered all kinds of solutions for moving the game and Florida held back. A complete classless call by Florida and a scared one at that.

If the report out of Baton Rouge is true that LSU offered to play the game on Sat/Sun/Mon in either Baton Rouge or Gainesville, and Florida either sat on their hands or explicitly turned it down, Florida trying to weasel their way out of playing this game is the only logical explanation for this.

The easy answer to this is for Greg Sankey to throw his weight around and force LSU and Florida to cut checks to their November 19 cupcakes, cancel those games (Presby and South Alabama won't mind, and who cares if they did) and play that day.

There's no wondering about it. He completely refused LSU's proposals and refused to give up a home game. It will come back to bite him come 11/19 because LSU will be rolling by then. This will be known as the "Folly by Foley".

Seriously, lots of people need to get their head on straight. This isn't a light shower coming into the area - it's a CAT 4 hurricane that may or may not make landfall in Florida in the next 24 hours. Potential loss of life event, significant property damage. But oh, let's worry about football...

Well after Floridas back to back stellar performances in Knoxville and Nashville, I highly doubt they wanted to play in Baton Rouge lol..

Here's what I don't get...Leonard Fournette has been ruled out of this game. Shouldn't Florida want to play this game on Sunday or Monday?

Of course, that's assuming Florida actually wants to play this game, which I'm not sure they want to.

I don't think people are complaining that they aren't playing in Florida Saturday, it's the fact of Florida wanting out of it period so they won't chance a loss.

It's not a matter of life and death. It's a matter of Foley's stubbornness. That hurricane is coming regardless of a football game and LSU offered a free evacuation for the entire Florida team and they didn't take it. So if something happens to one of those players or coaches during the hurricane everyone will pointing the finger at Foley and deservedly so.

I understand why Florida did not want to give up a home game. No AD in that situation would play in Baton Rouge. I don't fault Foley for holding the line there.

Having said that, if it is true that LSU offered to play in Gainesville on Sat/Sun/Mon and Florida either sat on their hands or turned it down, that's bush league from Foley.

This dispute is likely going both ways to an extent. There's another report that Florida wants to play it on November 19 (when both teams have cupcakes) and LSU is saying no for some reason.

This makes sense!

The reason they are probably saying no is because LSU offered every possible solution and they didn't want to pay a stupid buyout when the game could've been played as late as Monday. If I were LSU, Florida would have to pay that buyout for me in order for me to play on their terms after they rejected very realistic solutions to Florida.

It would be a money saver if the two scrub teams got paid and didn't have to make the trips.

Florida is making the SEC look bad for being chicken to play a game.

Foley using every tactic he has to not play the game this week because his starting QB still can't play. He isn't wanting to play this game with his backup. SEC office is allowing this to happen. But they do have to play the game. Remember 9/11, the UT/FL game was cancelled and we had to squash a November cupcake and play it late season.

Maybe LSU is going broke with all the payoffs they are making -- Miles buyout, buyout and give up a home game to S Alabama - pony up 7 million a year for Herman and so on

Nobody wants a single soul in Florida to get hurt as a result of this storm. Nobody does. Every adult in SEC country understands that football is not the most important thing. The Florida AD are the folks who need to get their perspective straight. Everyone knows what they're trying to do and may get away with it. They have been offered plenty of reasonable options and have rejected each because of their love of money and football. Play it another day. Play it without a crowd watching. Play it at the end of the season. Whatever. But this is nothing more than gamesmanship by the Florida AD.

This has happened more than once in the past and it was always handled correctly. Inconvenient for some, (S.Car, LSU, Tenn) but fairly.

If it's truly about safety and not trying to avoid LSU, then Florida would agree to suspend the win percentage rule and use total wins as the determining factor for the division championship.

If the LSU AD is telling the truth about their side of the story, Jeremy Foley should be ashamed of himself.
