If the report out of Baton Rouge is true that LSU offered to play the game on Sat/Sun/Mon in either Baton Rouge or Gainesville, and Florida either sat on their hands or explicitly turned it down, Florida trying to weasel their way out of playing this game is the only logical explanation for this.

The easy answer to this is for Greg Sankey to throw his weight around and force LSU and Florida to cut checks to their November 19 cupcakes, cancel those games (Presby and South Alabama won't mind, and who cares if they did) and play that day.

We played at LSU the Monday following a hurricane. I was one of what seemed to be about 200 Vol fans there. UF could play the game on Monday for sure.

South Carolina did last year

South Carolina also knew it didn't matter where they played, LSU was going to boat race them.

If say the Tennessee/Florida game was scheduled for here and say we were in the position Florida is/was, would you want to move the game from Neyland to "The Swamp"? I know I wouldn't.

It's like this though, if we at the very least can manage to split these next two games, or win them both, and Florida drops one it's a non factor.

FWIW, I think it's BS they may not play the game but people matter more than football and that's how it should be. That comment is not directed at you in any way, I know that's not what you're driving at. All that being said, the only way I don't see them playing the game is if it has no bearing on Atlanta. Otherwise I think they'll figure out some way to play it. JMO

All 5 of the other 6 games disrupted by the hurricane have been rescheduled or are playing on. Not a good look for Buttertooth and the Florida AD.

That's the problem. No one is fussing cause they're being cautious, it's that they're acting as though they want out of it.

I wonder why Mr Foley isn't concerned about the safety of the womens volleyball team that is still planning on playing this weekend at South Carolina? Their travel will be less dangerous than the football team's I suppose.

Look guys - this is about safety and we should respect that.

Anybody. Anytime. Any place.

A sentiment that should never be uttered by a Gator again.
