He catches the football and makes plays.. Yeah, he's not Michael Crabtree or Percy Harvin, but he's a good college receiver

And a few years back, still somewhat of a "what have you done for me lately?" department, Meachem had a pretty good year..

Meechum, Swain, Smith all were good rcvrs...Go back to the glory days and mention Price, Nash etc. etc.

These are the type of athletes we have to start back recruiting. Because frankly I don't think Taylor, Rogers, or Briscoe would play at Florida. Our young guys like Moore, G.Jones, and Paige give us our best collection of talent and playmaking ability on the field and all times. We have to recruit speed receivers and tahts it. No more possesion guys. The SEC laughs at these type of guys; the defenses are too fast.

I'd also be happy with a QB who can hit them between the numbers.

I'm sure the SEC was laughing at Lucas Taylor as he put up 1,000 yards.

Honestly, the topic of this thread, crabtree, and maybe a few others are the few people that would play at Florida? They have some elite receivers, and our young guys could end up being that good. (maybe not harvin good, don't jump all over me for saying that)

and i agree, I don't think people laugh at 1000 yard seasons.

Lets be serious. Taylor had a lot of his big yard games against the lessers of the league. In the big games he doesn't really produce. I would like to see him as the third receiver after G. JONES and D.Moore. I think those are our two best options at receiver right now. Just my opinion though cause I'm a speed freak.

I love them both as well, but it's hard to move someone down after a year like that. I'm obviously a Gjones fan, and a big Denarius Moore fan... They will both be better and end up being the 1-2 guys next year

You were just about right in saying that he didn't show up as much in the big games
6 catches for 50 yards vs georgia
2 for 15 against Bama
He absolutely lit mississippi state on fire.. 11 catches 186 yards

He's a good receiver, but maybe not a threat to score on any play like Jones

My point my philosophy is to score not just move the chains. I like to blow an opponent out of the water. I'm the type of coach that will throw you in the fourth quarter with a 50 point lead.:birgits_giggle:

If we get up by 50 on anyone, i'll settle for a nice steady run game, and moving the chains til the game ends :crossfingers:

Moore dropped more passes in his limited opportunities than Taylor did all year long.

He was a true freshman. Another thing: if your not really getting open it doesn't matter if you drop passes or not it will be the same result. No yards. Put the athletes on the field and let the chips fall where they may.

If you're saying taylor doesn't really get open, then a 1000 yard receiving season without being open is doubly impressive.

You're probably just referring to the UCLA game, when we should have been worrying about opening up holes for our tailbacks, not getting open in the passing game.

I'm really talking about against the top tier teams. I think if you give D.Moore the same amount of touches he will produce more than Taylor.

Just because you have the skill set doesn't mean you'll necessarily pan out. I think D. Moore will, i'm just saying. Taylor has proven himself.

And this is going to be a rerun of the foster hardesty debate, cuz 'moore hasn't had a chance to prove himself'

Well he'll get a chance. and i hope he takes advantage of it.

I was thinking NFL, but Harvin might be who he is most like.

Crazy thing is, they might be the 2nd and 3rd best pure receivers in college right now
