I cringe when maymon has the ball on the block ! Hes easy for other bigs to guard and hes not creating any looks for other players..
So you're upset with his 11.1 ppg and 8.0 rpg? Or his team-leading 52% FG% and 71% FT%?
I guess I'm confused about how to be disappointed in those numbers from a guy who could barely walk without a limp a year ago. If a better overall replacement is available on the bench somewhere, I wish you'd let Cuonzo know.
He's no easier to guard now than he was two years ago when he averaged very similar numbers (before the knee injury); 12.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 56% & 68%. Good enough for 2nd team All-SEC.
Got a feelin we'll be beggin for someone to make better than 50% of their lay ups under the bucket next season.I agree and I am impressed and appreciative to what he has done this year. But when he is within 2ft of the bucket he is so susceptible to getting blocked or missing a bunny that their has been several times this year I have compared it to driving by a bad wreck. You don't want to see it but you can't look away. lol

Though true it is a part of his aggressive nature. something we lacked last season and will miss next.At least their won't be as many double teams on our bigs. Like sparty mentioned, part of the issue is not knowing when to kick it out rather than going into one or two peoples chest. Same for Stoke some times. IMO If he got rid of it as soon as that double team came we would ALWAYS get a quality look that trip.
Maymon has played better but just needs to kick it back out more rather than forcing it. He's so short for playing his position, he needs to finish using angles instead of going up in somebody's chest.
I agree with the need to pass out of bad angles and double teams. I think his inability to distinguish a good shot from a bad shot is partly why he rarely played under Pearl.
I agree that he misses an inordinate amount of layups. Stokes does too. Maymon still leads the team in FG% though, and it's not because he's scoring outside of the paint to pad those numbers either.
