Anyone who thinks we arent an absolute sleeping GIANT, they are kidding themself.

What does that mean? A sleeping GIANT that has to play UF, UGA, Bama, & South Carolina every year.

UT isn't a sleeping giant. It is historically a very good program that has run into a situation of:

1) Coaching turmoil
2) The SEC is getting better and better

With a 40-45 HC record and that hole he is in at Miami he would jerk our arm off if we offered. I hope we don't. I do not want Golden. His winning percentage is just a tad better than Dooley's. Might be a great coach, but I have a hard time looking past that, and I think we can do better.

It's bad that jesse palmer knows more than some of our own fans how Great the Tennessee job is. One of the best football jobs in the country. Gruden in April said it was one of the best jobs in football period. John cooper said it was a Great job also.

I expect nothing but praise and kind words from ESPN from here on out. Why would they put down the job that they're losing their MNF color guy to. I also believe that when the news about Gruden taking the UT job is announced, it will be on ESPN even before a local presser announces it. The least Gruden can do if he's leaving espn is allow them to scoop everybody else on the story. Just my 2 cents worth and my wishful thinking.

Our history and traditions are NOT what a prospective HC takes into consideration unfortunately.

Sadly, there's more reasons for a top HC to NOT come to UT then there are for him to come here and rebuild our footVol program.

Coaches are going to do what they think is in THEIR best interests for their continued coaching career and, for most, coaching in the always brutal SEC simply won't be in their best interests.

I just hope that AD Hart can get us a solid homerun hire that will excite top recruits around the country so we can rebuild faster.

VFL...GBO!!!

UT needs to give the next head coach 5 million reasons every year that coaching at UT is in their best interest. If they shell out $2M a year for another unproven heach coach (for the 3rd straight time) and then whine that nobody better wanted the job then UT football will be irrelevant for years to come.

Palmer usually tells like it is. The other guy on they have on the show a lot, well lets say we disagree on everything that comes out of his mouth. The only downside to UT right now is the fact that we fell so far before attempting to fix the problem. I don't see the in-state talent problem a huge issue, we'd be fine if we actually attempted to land the east knox, nashville and memphis kids but we havent been.

The of no faith. Wasn't so long ago Alabama was in our shoes! Saban hired and we all now the rest! You could go on and on on how much coaches make a difference! So think my friend we have every thing that everybody else has and more than most!!!!

Jaws may take a bite out of him.

I really like to hear how Jaws breaks down the game but I just don't like listening to him for that long.

Palmer is actually really good at what he does in my opinion and he was one of the better liked UF players, again in my opinion. There haven't been many.

The Gators want UT back where they belong. They want beating UT to mean something. Even if it means getting beaten sometimes.
I agree 1000%... Don't post much here but this made complete sense to me.

UT-Florida is a special rivalry game. And it must be competitive in order to remain a rivalry game.

We don't consider the Vandy or the Kentucky games to be rivalry games for a reason. And we would hate for the Tennessee game to turn into another Vandy/Kentucky game...

So please hire someone who is going to bring back swagger and power football to UT.

Thank you.
