I don't think it is altogether bad for "us" to get affirmation of what we've been saying for 4 years while two HC's kept running JG on the field.

I don't have a thing against him and really, sincerely wish him success. But for those who defended the decision to keep starting him with "you're not an expert like the coaches" line of reasoning... random posters here with little or no coaching experience appear to have been right more than a couple of guys making $4 million per year.
this was my point. I take it as affirmation that a lot of us were indeed seeing the same thing. He holds the ball too long and scores for the wrong team.

He should parlay the injury into a first round draft pick of some lucky NFL team.

He can rehab his knee, work on his mechanics and come out of this primed to go high in the draft.

I wish JG the best of luck.

Nobody comments on our daily lives? I take it you are not a married fella?
A spouse is much different than 10k old men you don't know being obsessed with your life. It's sad for both the athlete and the person with nothing better to do with their time.

Just wish we'd leave him alone on Twitter. He pretty obviously went as far away from UT as possible. Let him live his life.

I'm absolutely sure Greg Schiano feels the same way......He's actually built Rutgers into being representable in just his 2nd year back there... Clobbered Temple and wouldn't surprise me if they beat Syracuse saturday... His recruiting has been great also. Good coach.

Why? He tried but failed at UT. He dealt with more crap than most of us will EVER deal with from fans, coaches, media, and everyone in between. Do you really think you should be personally offended by him? Do you think he did it just to hurt you?

Hm. Where did I say he "offended" me? Are you a mind reader?

For the record, I supported JG longer than most. I didn't finally get off the wagon until the Kentucky game last year. After that it was impossible. Mind you, it wasn't a full throated support, more like, "he must be the best we have" (though I didn't really believe that), but more precisely, I thought that with a few exceptions, people tended to exaggerate how bad he was. I was wrong! UK proved that. To throw an int, then come back in the game, and IMMEDIATELY throw ANOTHER INT into TRIPLE COVERAGE finally dropped the scales from my eyes. He simply wasn't a leader, period, dot.

I don't bear him any ill will. I do realize he got verbally beat up a lot at UT (not to mention the physical pounding he took his first 2 years). I actually think it took guts to take all those hits and keep getting back up. But he didn't seem to have another type of guts, which is the ability to make decisions quickly (and more importantly, make the right decisions).

So what AM I saying above? That I want to see another team suffer the way we did. Then I'll feel a bit better about the last 3 years. Thats all. Please do allow me that at least. ;)

Nobody follows us around at our jobs or comments on our daily lives. He's an amateur athlete. No grown man should ever tweet at him.

None of us have scholarships or get rewarded for playing a damn game. And as of today, we don't get NIL either.

Speaking of which, what NIL could JG get? Maybe one of those commercials where everything goes wrong, or opposite of how it's supposed to.

Nope. Just a good enough reader to detect the tone of your writing. If it doesn't express how you really feel then maybe you should re-read your posts before hitting reply?

I supported him in the sense of wanting him to succeed but recognized a fatal weakness very early on. He took over 30 sacks behind the same OL that Dormady took like 5 behind. His decision making was just too slow. It manifested itself in different ways over his career but it was always there inhibiting him and the team.

I never took it personal or made it personal. There's a ton to respect about the kid. He just had a few fatal flaws that prevented him from being a good QB.

We mostly agree and I'm not in a position to allow you anything... or deny you. But is that really the guy you want to be? Why would you want someone else to suffer or JG to fail? He failed at UT and nothing will change that. If someone else finds the magic potion that fixes his decision making then.... maybe they're a future addition to the Vols' staff?

I don't buy that JG was never coached well. Several guys tried and failed to fix him. But sometimes a guy will find someone they mesh with and can learn from.

I get what you're saying. It would be like validation that he "was" the problem. But we don't need that regardless of what he does at WSU. He was a huge part of the problem along with poor football coaching from Jones and extremely poor leadership from Pruitt.

Nope. I wrote what I wrote, you misread it, that's on you.

I'm definitely not taking it personally. But I do want to be amused if Wazzou sticks with him as a starter. He is comically bad. We all need to be entertained!

Absolutely! If you don't see comedic gold in JG continuing to struggle on the field, then you don't have a pulse. IMO.

No validation. None necessary. Just amusement that he's not OUR problem anymore. If you don't see that, maybe you need to work on your sense of humor (Normally I wouldn't say this, but hey, if you're going to give me advice....) :D

I want him healthy to see how bad he effs up the rest of the season. I'm mildly suprised he's the starter. Hope he gets better (I want to be entertained the rest of the season!)
This does not match the claims in your last post... until you started contradicting yourself. It isn't personal but you want to see how bad he "effs up the rest of the season"? Its about the entertainment that YOU would get from watching him fail... but you have nothing personal against him and it isn't about YOUR personal gratification to see him fail?

How am I misinterpreting what you're saying?

I was tougher on him than most anyone. But I have never wanted him to fail and have never had anything personal against him.

The amusement factor is that he is going to keep screwing up, and won't be on our team. I am past the point of expecting him to do well. It isn't personal at all. From what I have heard, he is a great person. What I am laughing at is JG the quarterback. That's his job. It isn't personal. I can think of past politicians that I would have loved to have a beer with, but I hated their politics. Same thing.

I don’t tweet at him but do follow his career. By the way, they are no longer (if they ever were) amateur athletes.

Some are watching him at WSU for the same reason people like videos like this:
