On a lame reporter asking about his salary as a state employee while the state has a budget deficit. Entertaining. Calhoun won some respect from me although I don't believe his $ figures about net income.

Reminds me of that reporter that always set Shaq up. If you haven't heard of him, go to YouTube and search "Shaq Owns Reporter". Funny stuff. This reporter got what he had coming, these press conferences are for talking basketball.

Calhoun isn't one of my favorite guys. That said, the man has never been afraid to say exactly what he thinks. That's an all too rare quality in our increasingly cautious society.

How much of that $12 million do the kids that actually put the ball in the hoop and do the practicing/playing/studying see, Coach Calhoun?

They're receiving a free education at a school they otherwise would not have been accepted into most likely.

Ladies and Gentlemen, TVA. He has about two or three arguments total, and he continues to spin them and spin them.

You could tell right after all the other media in the room were laughing/ telling the guy to shut up that Calhoun hit a whole nother level of pissed and started with the "Facts" speech.

I like people like Calhoun. Straight shooters.

Well jim's facts weren't correct. Uconn made 7.5 million last year, not 12. Either way i'm glad he told that idiot to shut up.

Don't need one. Basketball rarely makes that much money. 7.5 even sounds high.

it all depends on how you come to that number.

UCONN feeds off it's basketball way more than football. Interested to see if he gets the 12m off of men's and women's game combined, or if he's throwing in sponsor and donor money somehow, etc. 7.5 isn't that high for UCONN.

That's an enormous number for basketball, as the TV rights just have little value.

The women make $1m a year for their tv rights and bball is the primary reason IMG signed a $80 mil ten year contract. Bball is also why Nike signed them. They got over 10 mil in cash alone with that contract. Football is still considered new there and just an afterthought
