Jim Carrey is a better actor. He can actually play a dramtic role, not sure Will Ferrell can. As far as the question of who is funnier, probably Ferrell but close to a toss up.

Not really. How's your PS3? Is it actually working now?

Will Ferrell is the better all around comedian, but Carrey has the better resume as an actor.

I haven't seen this yet, but it's a drama where Ferrell is supposedly very impressive.

Carrey. I watch a movie like "The Truman Show" or "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and I see the same actor performing two completely different roles.

Ferrell has allowed himself to be defined by his SNL persona and his roles prove it. Ricky Bobby/Ron Burgundy/Elf, etc. are all boorish, semi-retarded and infantile (albeit, often quite funny). He rarely takes chances by branching out, "Stranger Than Fiction" and the upcoming "Everything Must Go" are notable exceptions.

I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did as a 12-year old watching Ace Ventura for the first time.

He didn't ask who is the better actor. He asked who is funnier.

It's "who's funnier," not, "who's the better actor?" Respect the game.

They are both overrated.

They use they same gimmick over and over.

They have both made some funny flicks and have made some terrbile movies, the difference in Jim leads his best movies while Will plays sceond fiddle in his, even in Talladega Nights/Step Brothers, he is the lead but isn't the funniest guy on the screen. John C. Rielly is.

It is a complete toss-up, neither is worth writing home about
