Rome just did a 5 minute segment on Lane Kiffin and his mention in the Lil' Wayne (did I spell that right?) rap song. He played the clip about 10 times and gave CLK major props for pulling that off. Made fun of several other coaches and how unlikely it would be for them to appear in a rap song. Great segment.

I still think Rome is tool.

He also said Lane has a plan in place and that he is working hard and going to get things turned around.

He said something similar to this:

"Can you imagine T.I. poppin cristal in the club with Nick Saban? Or Birdman making it rain with Urb?"

Haha.

I could see Urb blazin it with Birdman...

Rome is an elitist sports personality, but that's why I find his show so entertaining.

I love me some Rome. He is a west coast homer so the fact that him and colin cowherd are starting to get aboard the lane train does not surprise me at all.

There are no bigger tools on radio than Jim Rome.

The entire sports animal crew, Chattanooga sports talk radio, George Plaster, JT the Brick, Sports Monster out of the Tri-Cities.

That is just off the top of my head.

Rome is too L.A. for me and yeah he comes across as a tool sometimes. Where is Jim Everett to set him straight when you need him.

i heard the segment and the best thing he said is that "when kiffin walks into a house if that 18 year old kid bumps lil' wayne, then kiffin is signing that kid." he also said that "tennessee is the coolest team in the sec."

Yeah, it was one of the first things he said, something like "The Tennessee Vols might not be the best team in the SEC, but they're definitely the coolest."

I assume you're talking about Doc, Quake, etc., on the Talkmonster, 102.3. These guys take a lot of criticism from the Chattanooga faction on here (of which I am a member). And I can understand it to a degree, as they are a bit on the redneck side at times. However, I also find them to be quite hilarious. They say a lot of entertaining (non-politically correct) things that you would never hear on a national or even regional (e.g., Atlanta) show. Overall, I like them. And I VASTLY prefer them to the likes of Mike & Mike, Rome, etc.

Down here in the ATL I'd say John Kincaide and Perry Laurentino are just as insufferable... Especially Laurentino. I think he must get some sort of a commission every time he says something bad about Kiffin....

So CLK is referenced in a Lil' Wayne song but then you have Meyer and Saban in ESPN Gameday commercials...which has the biggest effect/impact? Go...

That fool Kinkaide and homer Buc Belleu (sp?) dogged the Vols and Kiffin for weeks before the UT/UGA game. Irritated the hell out of me. Well, that stopped pretty quickly after the game, obviously. I'm still pulling for UGA tomorrow, though.
