Not a smart move coming out and saying all 5 of those suspended players will return. He is really putting a lot of stock on what a kid says now just so they can play in the bowl game. there is a zero percent chance that every single one of those kids returns and it will make him look pretty stupid. He should have kept his mouth shut. All 5 of those kids returning hurts their draft stock much more by missing 5 games and potentially losing a starting spot than if they were to go pro now. I would be shocked if Pryor comes back.

IMO, Pryor is the one who hurt himself most. He needs those early games to pad his stats. It's going to be interesting to see if he comes out and if he does, where he gets drafted. Someone will draft him.

I'd draft him.

Doesn't really seem like a PR nightmare. He'll just say, "They changed their mind." Poof - story done with.

Pryor will be the next Antawn Randle El or Brad Smith, not a qb IMO

Randle El is in his 8th year in the NFL and currently in his first year of a 3 year, $7 million dollar contract. I'm sure Pryor would settle for that.

I was watching Robert smith talk on espn about it, and after it was correctly phrased, I think it's a good move on tressell's part.

He is taking them at their word, but if they do lie to him and declare for the draft, they will be exposed as liars, likely shunned from tOSU for life and quite possibly kill their draft status.

I'd take Pryor as a 4th rd. pick and try him at QB. If it didn't work, move him to WR.

Probably the prevailing theory. The move from qb to wr would probably take him several seasons. Probably have a career like Cordell Stewart.

i doubt it would do that much damage.

If you're talking somebody in the top three rounds, the difference could range from tens of thousands to millions lost by just a couple spots.

Can't speak for them, but basically being unwelcome at their alma mater for the rest of their lives would hopefully compel them enough to follow through on their word.

So the deal was if they wanted to play in the Sugar Bowl, they have to come back next year? I think the mafia has a word for this. It's called extortion.

There's no extortion. They're still free to declare if they want.

Of course he has no way to enforce this, but since it's a "if you want to do this, you have to do that" scenario, it's still extortion in my book.

it still sucks that the NCAA, deferred the penalty until nest year
that's the bigger issue, IMO

Without a doubt. The do as I say, not as I do attitude is going to blow up in their face at some point.

And who is going to make them pay? Te NCAA has been operating with zero accountability this season.

And Tebow is a tight end. he will go high and have a career for years in the NFL.

On gameday they did a piece on how Tressel should have suspended his players whether the ncaa did or not. But they are so greedy that they want to get every bcs buck they can get and keep those relationships with espn and all the sponsors. They went on and on about how everything he has stood for has been ripped away wiith this one decision. How he has just opened the door to more of this crap in the future.

I agree. Not that I agree with the rules, but that would be like if Ut gave awards for beating Bama or UF I would want our players to look at them with pride. Without that pride then why would they give their all to win. Also I feel it does open up the door for more players to pimp themselves out and OSU won't be able to control it. Then they will get busted more in the future. If he would have put his foot down the players would be scared to do things like this.
