What? My standard practice is to tell the truth and then call you an idiot or a liar if you disagree.

Whether you like it or don't, I post the true state of affairs on such issues. We don't need any more fans. Perfectly content for you rooting every weekend for Tenessee and FSU. Bascially the same thing as rooting for the Orioles and the Expos.

Blech.

I can't stand it anymore LG,,,, I cannot bet my own team against the Gators this year, but I will bet you that FSU will WHIP THEY ASS this year. If I win you have to put up a Seminole avatar for a week after the win and If I lose I have to put up a Gator avatar,,, is this a bet? Don't be a wuss about this now! :)

Any Gator who doesn't respect what FSU can be and is likely to become once again is delusional. I believe they are on their way back. I also don't think that their rise will hurt UF too much. Florida is a big enough state to support more than one elite program.

Right now, Florida is still winning most of the head to head recruiting battles with FSU. Not all, but most.

FSU should lag behind Florida for some time yet.

We remember what FSU was, so it should stand to reason we understand their potential.

However, UF isn't exactly mailing it in on the recruiting front, and I think the nation was exposed to what James Wilder is, and more importantly what he isn't.

Article in the Orlando Sentinel yesterday said FSU still had 15,000 tickets available for their home opener this weekend. Granted its a holiday weekend, but its the first game of the new era. Pretty dismal if you ask me.

Not sure how you claiming Florida would never drop off is some sort of truth/lie issue, but whatever. Do you plan on keeping your longstanding practice of not reading an article before commenting on it?

This season is a "drop off" season for UF.

Most rational UF fans have no expectations beyond playing in the SEC title game.

No. They aren't.

Both FSU and Miami are getting a handful of top players each year, of course. But then there is a huge drop off. Their second string guys would struggle at Florida or USC or Texas. And that's the problem -- no depth.

Any decent coach can go out and sell the program to three or four kids, particularly if they come from nearby. The difference is that when those kids in the second tier get a call from Florida or USC they are taking that way before they pick up the phone to take a call from Jimbo or Shanahan or Dooley.

You are smoking some serious crack if you don't think FSU is doing work in recruiting. They are rated higher than Florida in Rivals and ESPN recruiting right now. Miami is a very good team this year also. It is a cycle with the three Florida schools. FSU had a nice run in the late 90's and early in this decade, then Miami had their run, and now Florida. It is time for Florida State's run now.

Talk to me on signing day and we will compare the rankings then.

Miami had better have a great recruiting class this year. Shannon let UF and FSU pluck a bunch of top flight kids from Palm Beach/Broward/Dade.

Miami recruits relatively well, they always have. Not sure they're anything to gloat about though.

FSU is recruiting extremely well, always have, always will. They've had a few top 10 classes over the past few years. It's developing that talent that's been their problem. I do however think they'll be relatively good this season.
