Jimbo's Buyout

The guy is basically Sumlin (maybe slightly worse) and his offense is nowhere near as entertaining to watch as Sumlin's was. He's old, boring, wears grannie glasses, and wins 8 games a year. If you are going to stagnate, at least make it exciting. Watching Max Johnson and Haynes King is about as fun as watching Crompton pre-Kiffin.

But you don’t tell me who better are the Aggies gonna get. aTm is gonna be 2nd fiddle to Texas AGAIN once tu comes in the SEC. Not many want that challenge unless another boatload of $ follows. Once you go “whore” you’re always a whore.

Kevin Sumlin is well rested and comes at a cheaper/discounted rate.

I thought it was 10 years

Texas A&M has the money to buy out Fisher if they decide to go in a different direction at the end of this season.

They do but $100 million is still a $100 million. Just cause you got it don’t mean you piss it away. Who they gonna get better than Jimbo?
Treat of the Day: Association of Former Students to host Kickoff Concert for opening of Aggie Park

They just opened a $40M+ mosquito moat at Pyle Field (when parking is actually what they needed). $100M is just a drop in the bucket.

I’ve never understood the “fired without cause” wording. Coaches are ALWAYS fired with a cause…they suck. Colleges are paying these coaches millions to come in and win. And if they don’t (especially after a few years with no improvement) that seems like “cause” enough to me.
It's legal jargon. Fired "for cause" means you have violated a specific term(s) in your contract that you are required to follow to maintain employment. Committed NCAA violations, violated a morals clause, didn't show up for work, didn't follow a university rule, etc.

In theory, a school could specify in a contract that not winning a certain number of games could mean a coach would be fired for cause, but no potential coach would agree to that.

" Who they gonna get" no one. I hope they pay the next guy 500 million so I can keep on laughing. A fool and his money....

I thought the ole ball sack said 5 years and time to move on. I'm probably incorrect.

An AD has to be an unbelievable moron to give a head coach a 95 million dollar buyout.
