Jimmie Clausen is he overrated or not?

What makes you say that. If Jimmy's older bros. didn't attend Tennessee, you probably wouldn't think much about Jimmy either.

actually i think it's the fact that Jimmy Clausen is much more highly spoken of by recruiters and recruiting sites than Casey was (and obviously Rick). it has nothing to do w/ his brothers coming here

Sites speak highly of different people each year. He may be a great QB, but w/o his older brothers, this thread likely doesn't exist.

I would much rather have Ainge. Have you watched Zwick??? Zwick played well against the bad teams in the tuneups, but lost his job as soon as they started conference play and OSU suffered a three game losing streak to begin. Jim Bob Cooter would have gotten a shot if he was at OSU and Smith wasn't. Ok, maybe not really, but as for Zwick, I would take Crompton over him.

Watching both of them play against Texas last year, I think the Buckeyes would have finished with the same record last year with Zwick as the starter. Watching Crompton play against LSU, I think that maybe he might be good someday. At this point, I can't honestly say that Crompton is better than Zwick. He's completed less than 50% of his passes for crying out loud. He'll be good sooner or later, but Zwick is good now.

What makes me say that is the fact that Jimmy Clausen had a 1-hour special about himself on ESPN during his junior year of high school. I never saw Zwick mentionned on TV... at all.

There is 0 percent chance they beat Michigan last year with Zwick in.

I have seen stuff like that with some other guys. probably not as long, and I didn't pay much attention... But both were very hyped... Clausen may be better, but it's way too early to praise him now.

I wouldn't go that far. Ohio State was far superior to Michigan last year. The Wolverines were very fortunate not to be blown out.

I watched clausen when he was on ESPN. looked good. really good. He's mobile to a degree, but i don't think you have to worry about him doing any qb sneaks. I also think he's nowhere near 6'3, unless his teammates are 6'5 or 6'6
His teammates are that big. In SoCali, on teams like De La Salle, Oaks Christian, Mission Viejo, Notre Dame, etc. every starter is a potential D-I prospect.

I just get a gut feeling Jimmy will be a very good QB at Notre Dame if Santa Weis sticks around.

Yeah, he almost got away from the Texas defenders before they tapped the ball from him sealing the win.

Texas had one of the nation's best defenses last year. Troy Smith had his share of problems with the Longhorns.

Troy Smith's numbers were similar, but Smith lead most of the scoring drives...

And on that fumble, it was solely Zwick's fault for holding the ball like that.

No one's praising him.

One play doesn't define a quarterback. I think Matt Leinhart threw 2 picks against Texas. They had a great defense last year.

What about the three game losing streak he lead to team to to open conference play in 2004?

Tressel took a lot of heat for that. His offense was too conservative and they didn't even try to use Ted Ginn.

It didn't help they had an ineffective quarterback. If I remember correctly, Ginn scored the only touchdown in the Wisconson loss. Also, Smith lead the only scoring drive in a humiliation at Iowa.

I have seen film, actually two entire games from this season. The kid is that good. Take the talent of his brothers combined and multiply it by 50 and it may come close to just how good he is. ND will be way down next year because they lose 18 starters, but in 2 years they are going to begin putting themselves in position to win a national title.
