From the standpoint of physical talent and the ability to read a defense, Jimmy appears to be far ahead of where Casey was (even while he was at UT), and he looks far better than Crompton to me too. This kid has an absolute cannon of an arm, he is extremely accurate, and they say that this kid already knows how to read defenses and go through numerous progressions. That is NOT typical of even a top-flight high school quarterback.

No joke. So the kid is cocky. MOST of the highly rated high school kids are cocky. What matters is that the kid is good, and that he's going to receive coaching from one of the better QB coaches around when he arrives in South Bend. I think that many people here are trying to tear this kid down just because he isn't coming to UT. Will this kid end up being one of the best football players to ever play at the college level? Who knows? Only time will tell. Odds are against it, but the kid is extremely talented.
I think he is physically gifted, however, I would have to assume that his mental capacity is being overrated. Of course he is able to read defenses. His linemen are twice the size of their opponents, Tyler's presence alone freezes all high school defensive backs, and his WRs are a good three to five tenths quicker than the covering corners.
He might be as good as advertised. However, I will not buy into it until I see him shred USC and Michigan...
