Heard this rumor out of Fayetteville today, JJ wants to get back into coaching but not in the NFL, Nutt is gone at the end of the season.
Anyone else hear anything about this? If true what does it mean from sec standpoint?:dunno:

I know Jimmy is an alumni, and I had brought this up a few weeks back that if he should decide to come back to coaching, would he chose a school like Tennessee/Texas A&M or Arkansas?

Haven't heard anything about this...i think it is highly doubtful JJ ever coaches again. My guy in Fayetteville is convinced that Butch Davis takes the arky job.

Arkansas is Jimmy Johnson's alma mater, so for that reason I think its plausible. But I doubt he's ready to come back to coaching.

On a sidebar, Terry Bowden is like dying to get back into coaching.

He just took the job at UNC why would he leave after one year

pretty sure arkansas is his alma mater and he has a specific clause in his contract that says if the Arky job becomes open while he's coaching at UNC that he can leave to take the job. I find it kind of difficult to believe as well, but my buddy is flat out convinced.

what kind of connection does JJ possibly have that would make him take the UT job. Not sure if he wants to get involved with a team like this with no ties to the program at all at the crisp age of 94.

He like to take nothing and turn it into something!!...in other words he likes the challenge!!!!.....But its wishful thinking!!

Well I'm no JJ expert by any means but I just don't see any reason for him to do it. One thing is for sure, if he did take the job, ESPN would be all over us. That would be a bigger story than Saban to Alabama

He has no ties to TN, but he went to BIG D when they were low on the pole and he turned it around BIG time!!....He left cause he didn't have enough say so in the running of the team.....I think TN would pay the $$$$$ to have him any day!...And look at how much control he would have at a college level, top-notched football progaram like UT.
