Strong kid, but footwork is probably too slow to help SEC-caliber teams. When Tullahoma played Columbia in the state playoffs, Shaq Mason (Georgia Tech comittment) blew past him on several occasions. From all accounts this is a very good kid and has to be a hard worker to get that strong. Speed (or lack thereof) will kill you, even on the line. Can you imagine this kid attempting to block Jacques Smith? Smith would leave him in the dust.
5A high school football so pretty impressive, and in preason they play the best like riverdale and others... also played blackman, seigel, and columbia who beat knox catholic!!!! he is 6'2 285, and i really see him getting taller!!! his dad is 6'5... im telling you i would not have posted this if i did not think he could be higher recruited lineman!
went to tullahoma for high school, great coach with coach olive but there are very few players that come through the program that can make it to the next level...if Joe had some coaches really help him with his mechanics the kid could be great but unfortunately he won't get that at tullahoma
There have been some over the years, but the ones I know about were a good while back. Steve Matthews, Wayne Shaw, Morris Shaw, Antonio London. Think Rob Norman had D1 level talent, but played baseball instead.
Clearly, I'm dating myself - those guys were from the 80's and 90's and were all under the previous coaching staff (went to Oak Ridge. Still there?). Side note - Tullahoma used to snap it like Stone does back under that coach too (can't remem his name).
Anyway, if a guy has the measureables and is knocking people down, college coaches won't be too worried about a lack of refined technique, imo - they can teach that.

Didnt Tullahoma have a kid by the name of Brandon Miller? He was pretty big OL too. I would look to MTSU if anyone now.

Saw the kid play many times. He has good size but not D1 size. Does not have the quickness that could stop a good DT or DE. He might have heart and all that stuff but he is not SEC talent. I can see him go to UTC but MTSU is a reach job. Also lets face it Tullahoma is a good program but its no Siegel, Blackman, or Riverdale. Siegel showed that at the beginning of the year when they played each other.
Tullahoma lost to siegal on the last play of the game. it was the final regular season game for them! pretty competitive if you ask me
Well, now, in fairness, I wouldn't expect a school with about 1200 students (1224) to have the same 'program' as schools with 1635, 1664, and 1987, respectively. Would you? Beating a team 33-30 when you've got 25% more enrollment isn't all that impressive to me.
But having more kids/good athletes doesn't have a lot to do with a particular player who happens to be there, necessarily. Just means they'll have fewer good players along the way and less talent on the team as a whole.
I agree on this kid, though - not an SEC level guy. But there's no shame in FCS or D-II - that's better than 90%+ of guys can ever aspire to.
Go to church with Brandon and he is an amazing football player, plus he has the size to play D1. His brother is playing at Sewanee and Brandon has gotten alot of letters from D1 schools. I think Vandy was looking at him, he has the smarts to go just about anywhere he wants and probably for free so hopefully that helps him out with some schools
