Joe Milton begins his Heisman season tomorrow

I have said it before and I will say it again no Tennessee player will ever win the heisTman. We have had at least two players that should have won it and neither did.
On the other hand; We’ve never had a coach like Heupel who knows how to make a QB absolutely shine.
Peyton would have won the Heisman easily if Fulmer could have gotten him a win over Florida BTW

Except... Heupel was *also* Heisman runner up.

Who’s your two? I think Eric berry should have been in the running.

Heisman or no Heisman, Milton will be the author of Paradise Regained.

Don’t watch heisman ceremony, try not to listen to announcers talk about it, don’t care who wins it (or doesn’t), and I consider it the MVP trophy of talking heads. Way too many controversial winners (Hooker not even being invited the latest), and this is not just because of me being a VOL fan. Unitas, O’Brien, and other awards hold much higher standards for me. Saying that, I hope Milton wins every award that Peyton won.

I hope you're right but I'm going to have to see it before I believe it.

Milton will be at his best this season playing for an NFL contract.

I think the time under Heupel and company had helped iron out his issues and expect an upstanding season.

Legitimately think he gets the invite to NY but won't be shocked to see Williams win it. The hype machine coming out of LA can be incredibly strong.

That Keyton drop really hurt his stats / folks impression of him. The dart throws to McCoy and Warren were really good. The throw to Keyton was a sure TD.

But he did have one series where he had three really ugly high throws . . . And one or two series like that against UGA or BAMA could cost UT the game . . .

He will make some wow plays each game / he will throw high some each game . . . He runs ok but is not nearly as good as Hooker in that area . . .

He will play ok this year / but I have seen nothing to think he will be all world . . .

If we run the ball as well as we did today (on a consistent basis) . . . He won’t have to be all world. But running it against SEC defenses is a tall order.

He had a good game. Looked great running the football. Had one series where he seemed off throwing the ball but Hooker had some bad series too. Other than that he was fine.

So far at least, he is no where near Heisman level. We all hope that will improve, but right now he looks like an 8 or 9 win QB.

He got 4 TD. I could see him playing a lot better once we get into our sec schedule. Think it's still too early to say. Overall, thought he played relatively cleanly, pre snap penalties aside. He had one bad throw into triple coverage but other than that his decision making seemed as sound as Hookers was.

The biggest limiting factor was the drops by the wide receivers in my opinion. Maybe Milton could throw them a better ball, but when it's hitting you in the hands and you drop it that's really not on the quarterback no matter how high the ball is.
