Yes it is - but what's it got to do with us? Because we don't have 3 JUCOs with superstar written all over them - maybe 1 that does though.

Joe Schad is now the most knowledgeable sports analyst according to VN - at least until he says something bad about UT and then he is dumb and anyone else could do a better job.

I bet you're a blast at parties.

Our 3 JUCO guys don't have to be stars, just solid performers. Those JUCO guys raised the average weight of our D-line 40 pounds over last year, and have given us 3 excellent WRs.

I wouldn't be so dismissive about what they bring to the table.

Similar to '90 when we brought in a few decent JUCOs named Dale Carter, Chris Mims and Chuck Smith.

Patterson, Sentimore and McCullers have the potential to be superstars, do not judge them before the season gets here.

I'm not dismissive about what they bring to the table as they are all expected to contribute in a big way. But the OP was implying Sentimore and McCullers have superstar potential, lol. Superstar - how do you define a superstar? Eric Berry was a guy I defined as a superstar in college.. Tim Tebow.. Cam Newton.. If those two can have as much of an impact as Couch did near the end of the season then its a win for us. But come on.. really? Superstars?

lol

You are correct, we should first define what "superstar" really means.

Let me modify my statement: Patterson, Sentimore and MCcullers have the potential to be very productive for our team.

Superstar is a very strong word, and it really only applies to QBs.

Everyone does realize that if the Vols manage to win the East, all ESPN will talk about is what a down year it was for the SEC?

What if they have the same impact as Fairly did for Auburn? You could argue that he was almost as important to the defense as Cam was to the offense.

It's hard to transition from the JUCO ranks to trying to play well in the SEC.

JUCO was easy for these guys but they're in the big time in the SEC and it won't be easy anymore.

I expect them to do well but I think we'll see them at their best in their senior season.

This season should be pretty good but if CDD can find a miracle and get everyone to come back for their senior season then Tennessee should be in the talk about a SEC Championship and beyond.

VFL...GBO!!!

Talking about coaches on the hot seat in response about Derek Dooley and Tennessee he said:

"Well I think Tennessee actually has a chance to be really pretty good this year. You know, I'm one of the few guys in that ESPN.com power poll that had Tennessee in the top 25. I like the way their offense is set up. There's no question they're gonna score a lot of points. There has been some attrition, but I'm a believer in what Derek Dooley is trying to do and his plan and structure."

I like how he emphasized that he was one of the few that had us in his top 25 (the only one I saw that did, and at #13 actually). He's buying the hype for sure, hope he's right.

There's no hype to buy if he's the only one ranking us. He's creating the hype not buying it.

This! It won't matter what we do, the media always finds a way to bash us. In '98, I loved it because it was killing them that we won it all.

I'm pretty confident that he wasn't trying to claim all 3 would be in heisman contention. That's just a hunch though.

There's a lot of whining going on in here. What difference does it make what someone says about your team? The games aren't played in a studio. What these guys say doesn't mean squat. Just the play on the field speak for itself.
