I don’t think I’d survive the celebration if this happened. The story writes itself. Vols win out and Ole Miss beats georgia.
Vols in SEC Championship against Alabama in a rematch.
Vols win everything else falls into place and the Vols find themselves in the playoffs against Michigan.
Vols Win the natty!!!
I’d be good with nobody from this conference getting in if it’s not us. To hell with conference pride.
There are still two important aspects remaining in which conference seems to be relevant: RECRUITING and PORTAL.Amen, who gives a crap about the rest of the SEC? I mean, conferences don’t have much meaning anymore - Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC. UCLA and USC in the big 10. What’s the point?
Unlikely but possible except the Michigan part. The Vols need the 2nd and 3rd teams from the Big10 to have 2 losses somehow. The story writes itself. Vols win out and Ole Miss beats georgia.

Would be better than a National championship team that gets blown out 65-7 like TCU who didn't belong in the CFP regardless of record.I think your story is very rickety but I'm pretty sure it falls apart with the CFP allowing a 2 loss team into the playoffs.
I think UT winning the SEC would be amazing for Vols fans and a nightmare scenario for the SEC.
Whoever wins the OSU Michigan game gets to play in the Big10 Homecoming I mean championship game against likely Iowa right now...The big 10 west is pukeworthy. what would be super funny is if Iowa was to beat whoever makes it from the east. That would possibly cause a chain reaction meaning both OSU and Michigan miss out.Unlikely but possible except the Michigan part. The Vols need the 2nd and 3rd teams from the Big10 to have 2 losses somehow.
FSU has to lose- probably twice. You really need Texas to lose in their CG to have 2 losses and not be a champ.
Then... the Pac 12. Washington finishes with Utah, Oregon St, and Wazzu. They're probably going to be undefeated playing either Oregon or USC in the CG. In all likelihood, Oregon or Washington takes a spot.
Not impossible... but LOTS of good teams have to lose to get there. A better scenario would be for Bama to win the West and UT to beat them in a revenge game. That might negate the loss in the minds of the pollsters and selection committee. The narrative down the stretch also has to be how much better UT has gotten from UF to the end. EVERYONE in the media has to be talking about it.

Probably right and would be our luck. We could beat UGA, win SECCG and a 1 loss Ga would still probably get inYeah probably if UT were able to achieve all that they would have shown more toughness than they have to this point and be worthy of the CFP. However there's a crowded field of undefeated and 1 loss teams this year. I just don't see a 2 loss team getting in, regardless of winning their conference.
Mizzou screwed us by not beating UGA. Now we need Ole Miss to beat them along with us to win the East. Problem that creates is a likely 11-1 Ole Miss with wins over Tulane, LSU, & UGA. Committee would likely take them over us if we win the SEC and give UGA & Bama their 2nd losses in the process. We need Ole Miss to best UGA & then lose to MS State.Okay, likely not going to happen, but if we beat Mizzou, UGA, and Alabama to win the SEC, the committee will have us in at 4.
But, that is a long shot.
If TCU didn’t belong then how did they beat Michigan in the 1st round? TCU best UM, UM destroyed tOSU, tOSU lost to UGA on a missed last second FG. TCU’s luck ran out against a very focused UGA team, but that doesn’t mean the didn’t deserve to be there.Would be better than a National championship team that gets blown out 65-7 like TCU who didn't belong in the CFP regardless of record.
