This isn’t supposed to be clickbait but I’m positive it will be attacked as such. Deion Sanders is currently making his biggest mistake in his coaching career by sidelining the best offensive coordinator in the country, Sean Lewis. He is a master of the veer and shoot, closer to Jeff Lebby than Alex Golesh. Anyways, what would you all think if Heup went and made Lewis the co-offensive coordinator?

Big fan of Sean Lewis, not so much of co-coordinators. And, I agree with Cavour about why it won’t happen.

I don't see Heupel doing that. He's been with Joey for a good while. He'll give him every opportunity to grow into the job. As I've read, Heupel is very picky about who he shares his system with. Not happening IMO.
Joey knowledge of football is what Heupel has taught him. He does what Heupel wants to be done. It would be a new learning curve for someone who has not been around him to become efficient in his system.

I think it is becoming evident that Milton is finally learning the system and becoming more comfortable in playing. If he plays with more confidence today, we have a better chance against Missouri and Georgia. I am becoming more confident that Joe will continue to improve.

From the what this says they are getting Sean Lewis ready to be the head coach for Colorado which is why he's been sidelined or whatever you want to call it. I value my time to much to read the whole article but here it is if you're interested in reading it.

If you think Colorado has the best offensive coordinator in the country then you have not been watching football.

I figure he’s being brought along slowly. Heupel will give him more play calling and game prep responsibilities as we go. Heupel comes from a successful background as an OC so he knows what it takes to be successful at the position. Right now you can bet Heupel is calling most of the plays and handling a lot of the game prep.

Is it ok to selfishly hope Golesh fails quickly at USF so he can be brought back? Nothing against Halzle. He can be QB coach again.
No, it’s not. He was great for Tennessee and we should wish him much success. He was instrumental alongside Hype in creating the most exciting offense in the country last year. The number of outstanding players we lost from last year on offense can’t be discounted. I think Heupel and Halzle will get this thing going again. We just took a step back in production this season. It will return.

I think that missing Golesh is an underrated part of our inconsistencies this year. Not only is he an experianced play caller but a disciplinarian.

CJH is a players coach which is fine but somebody needs to be the disciplinarian and be able to make guys uncomfortable to stay focused.

You realize they legit do not have an offensive line, right? They’re playing FCS-level starters on the line or scrimmage. It’s all about scheme. Just like Heupel’s first year.

Alex Golesh had never been a sole offensive coordinator before UT just a co-oc title with Jeff Lebby and didnt call the plays here Heupel does. He may very well be a better disciplinarian than Halzle though

It takes chemistry. I've been critical of the play calls, either Heupel or Halzle, this year but they seem to have a cohesive plan (whether I agree or not.)

Heupel's offense requires someone who is on the same page. Golesh was and Halzle is. I'm not sure Lewis would be.

Good decision to not read it. It’s a dumb article. Prime isn’t going anywhere. Why would he?

Heupel will ride with Halsle in 2024 and beyond.

heupel is the mastermind and calls the most plays. he won't bring in someone to do what he does. JMO
