John Adams: If you believe in Lady Vols, you’re sure to be fooled

Yes, 2 for 10 shooting is very uncharacteristic of Bash. I agree that the her back injury (and rugby scrums under the rim) had a lot do to with that low %.

The stats are interesting- the LVs shot an atrocious 28% from the field but MSU was not much better @ 32%. However, MSU did hit 7 for 13 from beyond the arc (compared to the LVs 2 for 8); that is a 15 pt difference in a game lost by 10. Both teams were closing down the inside but MSU did what has to be done in such situations; make some outside shots.

All in all, I think the LVs can still make it to the Sweet 16.

I will not disagree with you on Graves back but let`s remember Graves have problems with bigger post players. And MS post players block Graves shot many times in that game.

And the scheme wouldn't be bad, if she had confident players to run it. Its the offense, that all the other top programs are running, and you have to run those offense to be able to beat that offense, specifically, and the one we recruited for.

If the ladies (ran) the offense it would be sound, but turnovers, poor guard play will make any offense look bad, you can put our guards in Uconn offense and it would look bad. ijs

If they play a #2 or #1 seed...can get dicey...wuteva Booshaara, alpha wuteva, Freshman of the year, didn't even return to all SEC level, she didn't put in the work.

He is the hack of the century, no ifs ands or buts.

And you may be a very intelligent and thoughtful person. If you dignify Adams by starting a thread with his name, you are just pouring gas on a fire. Not saying you are an idiot, but since you did this, I will call it a natural assumption. And if you believe a single word written by John Adams is worth reading, you need T-shirts proclaiming your pride in being one.

Watch what happens. If this article results in fans calling for Holly to be fired, and she resigns, Adams will write a farewell article calling it a shame. He is a worthless ass.

+++++++++++++++

At least John Adams finally stood some ground and acknowledged the fans who are not pleased with the program's direction (or lack thereof). NO, he didn't mention Holly, and that was a bad oversight. But he didn't sing the praises like Fleser did and say that the program is advancing, on the very same page that Adam's column was written on.

I believe in the girls on the team. I think they need direction other than Holly and her bunch and with the right coach would win a lot of games. Coaching is the weak link it is easy to see possession after possession.

Give this group to any good AAU coach in the country and they would run with it... This team has to play with passion and ambition... we can't be satisfied to beat someone, we need to batter everyone we play. UCONN does this, 100-30 scores all the time and they have never been sought out as bullies or running the score up.... This team needs a coach with a "win or go home" attitude. . . Sorry HW, but i don't see this in you... then again you do coach in a school environment. which is significantly different than AAU... With AAU the coach is the dictator. They can't be bullied by parents or athletes. . . I know in my past if a parent or kid puts me on the spot, i simply say, "Leave... I will only build one better than you who can shut you down; because i know your strengths and weaknesses, I know how to stop you... SO GO!.. On the other hand, in school, all a parent or player has to do is find a way to go to another school and with so many teacher-coaches, they are easy prey.

I wish Knoxville had more AAU teams. I am looking for a team to work with this year.

Yep. Holly is shooting. Holly is dribbling. Holly is defending. Holly is turnover the ball over. Holly is dribbling with her head down. Holly is not getting to the basket. Holly is bricking. Holly is not rebounding. Holly is not jumping for rebounds. Holly is not pressuring. Holly is not cool on the pressure.

Holly, Holly, yes she take the blame cos it is her team but the players has to own up to their lack or lack thereof effort and skill set too. When they do that we will see a better basketball team?

Who is instructing these kids? A coaching deficiency, I believe.... Holly is responsible for everything that happens in the program.... if it is a dribbling problem or shooting problem.... she has to make that a focus in practice and teach accordingly.

The adage is as old as coaching is... Teams take on the personality of their coach.

This same type of play has been going on the last few seasons. Do you actually watch the games? The offense is terrible. Playing hard and getting in the gym is not the answer to this offense or whatever you call it. You can tell this team doesn't practice offense as a unit consistently. If they did, there would have chemistry, they would move and pass the ball with a purpose, it would be less creating, they would something besides constant pick and rolls, commentators and fans with basketball knowledge would actually know what kind of sets are being ran and I guarantee you the turnovers will cut down. Players do need to get in the gym and gain confidence and repetition, but Tennessee has no defined offensive system. That's clear as day. You can ask any AAU or High School coach that is advising recruits to go elsewhere.

You can tell. You can tell. But what do you know! wuteva.

My goodness are you Holly's relative or best friend? Anyone with eyes can see Tennessee has no offensive system. When the game turns into a half-court game, the Lady Vols are confused and look very lost. There's a lot of creating because there's no sets to run. You can advocate for Holly on this board, but it's not changing anything on the court or recruiting trail. I guess the program has to be in the grave for you to see reality.

All of the announcers have commented on the LVs lack of offense, too much dribbling, players standing still instead of passing the ball and taking desperation shots as the shot clock expires. These are former players and coaches, and they see the same problems as the fans.

Holly needs to make some staff upgrades and bring in someone to put in an offense. Dribble, dribble, panic, shoot and miss isn't a good game plan-- as our record-setting 19-13 record makes clear.

Like, Holly spend all day, I want you to dribble to one side then pick up your dribble. Yes dribble the ball, Yes dribble it some more to the shot clock is down to five with your head down and force a shot. I want you to come down and dribble and make not one pass or one move to attack the basket. Yes, ladies attack the rim and get scared and throw up a brick. Yes ladies, when we get on offense we want to stand around. Please ladies wuteva you do not try to score. wuteva.

Once players take ownership of their play and team's play, like Diamond. Once you see better guard play, you'll see a better offense.

Yes, Holly is family, she is a Lady Vol and as long as she is the Head Coach, she will have my support.
