Just saw it on SportCenter.. What do you guys think? Think it will help us next year against Florida if he does transfer?

I have heard there is a strong chance the "gators" are going to run a pro-style system, so this doesn't make sense to me.

Brantley is a pocket QB. Meyer and Addazio did him no favors last year by trying to fit his square peg into their round spread-option hole.

Why would he transfer if the new coach is bringing in the right system for his skill set?

He's got Urban in his brain and that would be difficult to remove.

This news helps us more than it hurts us.

I don't know that a recruit looks at Brantley's performance this past season and thinks, "Man, I can't wait to play with that guy."

He's going to be a senior next year. Recruits should be looking at Driskel as far as who they're going to be playing with anyways. If I'm a UF fan, I don't want him to leave.

And I don't blame you. We take our lumps again with anywhere between 3-5 losses whether Brantley stays or not.

To think a recruit would second guess coming to UF based on Brantley's status is crazy talk, especially with Driskel coming in.

If I was sticking with the spread, and needed my QB to be able to run the dive, and option Im not sure him staying makes a difference.

But if your gonna push more toward a pro style set (that fits Brantley) I would rather him be there to help with the transition.

As far as short term recruiting, I don't think it matters that much either way.

Recruiting will not be the issue at UF anyway.

Brantley leaving will help us (UT) out in the short-run. UF will have to start either Trey Burton, who isn't as suited to run a pro-style offense, or true freshman Jeff Driskel, who would be making his first SEC start against us.

I heard the rumor back in October from a buddy in Gville. Sounds like the new staff wants a pro style offense. Maybe he wants a proven pro style staff. I don't blame him for going where he can get prepared for the NFL.
