John Fields: a legitimate shot blocker?

Having a final four stripped would be a bit easier to digest than not being able to compete at all IMO. At least it would eliminate the "what ifs"

Yeah, we would do great if we could get to the final four by cheating and then have it stripped from our record. It would prove what a great program we have.

I'm not saying I want that to happen, but the season just wouldn't be the same with no post-season hopes. All I am saying is if I had to choose between the two evils I'd pick to have it stripped on the back end

I understand what you are saying, but I don't think we really have to engage in serious violations of NCAA rules to have a team capable of making the post season and being very competitive.

Nor do I. I think we have "arrived" so-to-speak, and we do not have to cheat to excel and surpass where we currently are. Just hard work, dedication, and doing things the right way on and off the court. I think Tobais could and in all likelyhood will be the leader this team has lacked. Wayne was a good leader, but wasn't taken serious because he was such a joker. T-Smiff was a bad mutha... literally. I had a friend that lived accross from him and everyone knew that was NOT a place to associate with. As time unfolded I began to understand more and more why that was. He is NOT someone you want to mess with

Tobais has the work ethic and drive to raise expectations in short. I hope he is here longer than one year. He is extremely impressive though and I doubt that will be the case. If Scotty breaks out and has an extremely efficient season, we could have 2 lottery picks on this team. I know Scotty has lacked in some crucial areas, but the whole USA select team experience and the fact that no league drafts/whiffs based stronger on "potential" than the NBA. Scotty has the measurables, its about getting the tangibles

Tyrus Thomas was drafted on pure potential. Guy had an offensive skill set comparable to Stanley Asumnu... but he could block shots well for a 6'8" post player and could jump like Stanley too
