Johnny Majors on Kiffin

It would be interesting if the Vols have to do another coaching search and Kiffin is the best coach available. It's not very probable, but probable none the less

It's pretty unlikely that some fired college coach will be the best available. And it wouldn't be interesting. We'd probably just drop football if Kiffin was the only option.

if kiffin fails at sc look for him to be an nfl OC or find a job at a mid major or lower level bcs team.

lol. why is every single kiffin thread moved to the ncaa forum even though there's a former ut coach talking about him? has the fanbase really been affected so badly that we can't even mention his name in the main forum anymore?

He could have a series of seasons with winning 8, 9, or 10 games & just be a little magic dust or whatever away from a championship, SC gets a can't miss coach from the NFL & parts ways with Kiffin.

I'm so confused with the state of the football program right now (UT & USC). Let's just get to the college football season already and see what's gonna happen (tears flowing).

All you Kiffin lovers----get over it. He is not here anymore!!!! for goodness sakes. I suppose Johnny wanted to say some good things about the Vol coach. Johnny thought he would be very very successful. Welllll!!!!. Johnny is not a good prognosticator, is he? I'll bet Johnny has some good things to say about DD, but you wouldn't want to talk about that, would you?
Some of U guys need to chill a message board is for good conversation lets count everyones opinion and don't shoot it down so fast.

That seems like a very fair and accurate assessment.

Speaking of Kiffin, has anyone any info concerning the lawsuit between Kiffin and the Raiders?

Word is the new USC AD doesn't like Kiffin at all. Good coaching or not, they will look for any reason to fire him. This lawsuit from the Titans isn't helpin his case any either.

I'd be willing to make a tailgate bet with Johnny. For every year that Kiffin wins his conference title I'll host a tailgate party for him and friends the following year. For every year he doesn't he hosts one for me and my friends.

What's the incentive for Johnny? Either way, he's tailgating with you. Sounds like a lose/lose to me.

I find it amazing that people on this board has a tendency to take up for Lane and put down Fulmer, to me thats astonishing.

People down Failmer because he's the biggest reason the program is in the shape it's in. Period.

Johnny Majors needs to have another drink considering he was 4-12 against alabama. If he would have stayed on his medical leave in 92 we would have been a better team. His selfish pride cost him his job not Fulmer.:banghead2:

And what about Fulmer's pride? Did that pride cost him his job as well? Call that PF refusal to change and adapt to 21st century whatever you wish, it was pride, pure and simple. Too prideful to admit his shortcomings, very evident in his tear-laden dismissal statement. So, selfish pride was a two-edged sword, affecting the "big round man" as well as Majors.
