Jon Gruden talking about Vols in LSU/Iowa game

UT & North got mentioned in the SCjr game too.

What did they say?

At any rate, it's good the we're being pimped by the media. Free exposure. They want us back and while some can complain about it that exposure helps us. Those gabbers also vote in rankings and influence other voters. Not to mention, recruits hearing Tennessee mentioned in SEC games is good PR.

Someone has a secret limo rented and is meeting CJG at TYSON soon, real soon. This has to be true - he mentioned UT on the TV.

As someone wo bought into the Gruden rumors and wanted him to coach here, I'm able to laugh at myself now and enjoy these threads.

Butch is just a smokescreen placeholder so Jon can work out his contract with ESPN and let his kids graduate high school. Soon.

IMO, Jones is Gruden

Gruden is just so good, he has hidden his true identity in broad daylight

You will notice that you haven't seen the two together

I get it. We beat Alabama next year with Spider 3 Y Banana and Butch rips off his mask at midfield to tell Saban "soon" is "now". How could I be so blind?

Probably not thread worthy but there was a question, which schools have had 3 coaches for 15+ years. I think that was the question... Gruden guessed Tennessee. The answer was Iowa, Oklahoma and Tennessee. The other commentator said he's impressed Gruden knew that. Then the commentator says to Gruden, "Your wife was a cheerleader at Tennessee, right?". He said yeah and then proceeded to say Tennessee needs to get back the Outback Bowl.

Anyways... free publicity for the Vols in the LSU/Iowa game. I enjoyed it. :)
I am sure as hill :)glad he did not take this job, with his goals only a outback bowl.

The sad thing is there are people who would really want Gruden to coach here.

The only thing the SOB HAS DONE FOR US was to put us down, and make fun of us fans for even thinking he would consider taking this job I hate the fffffffffffffffffffffffer, you don't make fun of the BIG ORANGE, then run around like a little smiling weasel, he can go to hill as far as I am concern. WE GOT THE BUTCHER

Totally agree. Also people think he is going to be some great coach when he has never coached in college. I don't want him here in any capacity.

Why? Just curious.

We certainly have a coach that, I hope, most Vol fans are behind. That being said, I would love the exposure that a knowledgeable, experienced, BIG Name coach would do for our program. I think he exudes intensity and has a bit of a Tennessee background in his resume. The number of threads about him seemed to demonstrate the excitement value to the program...which should translate to better financial support. So, in short...lots of reasons. But for now it seems imperative to get behind the one we have. Go Butch!

Ha. I went to the Outback bowl during the '07 season ('08 game). I remember when we used to complain about bowls like the Outback and Citrus. "Can't spell Citrus without UT." Yet SC was in that bowl this year. Ha. Anyhow, I'm going to look forward to getting back to any bowl of significance...and playing well!

:)

Honestly, my post wasn't because Gruden said it. I only posted because I enjoyed hearing Tennessee talked about in a game that essentially has nothing to do with them. Being talked about for the sake of being talked about is added exposure that came out of nowhere. I know I wasn't expecting to hear anything about the Vols while watching this game. I'll take the free publicity :)

I agree anytime we can get our Vol name out there is fine with me. I was thinking the same thing during the game. It's free publicity for Butch and our program. GO VOLS!
