I dont think anyone here really believes he'll start.
Most of us, will be happy to watch him learn on the side lines.

In the event Ainge or Clausen was to go down for the season, CPF will pull the redshirt and hope he doesnt see the field.

By this time next year, The stakes are raised and there might be a QB battle in Knoxville?

I could careless how friendly Mr.Ainge is or isnt! He's an honor roll student and STANDOUT on the Field. :peace:

"I have no prob w/ you guys talking about the future, but Ive read on more than one occasion that posters here think crompton should start, and it makes me wonder why. Ainge is as good of a qb that youll find (for being a soph) hes got a whole yr under his belt and i think itd be foolish to start another fresh. Just reminding you guys that you do have an all-conf qb "

Why does it matter to you that some think he should start, I don't know for sure but i would say that some Gator fans would have liked another coach besides UM and that is their right to have an opinion while as a Vol fan I could care less what the average Florida fan thinks about the new coach.

I think I speak for every other sane football fan in that Ainge is more proven, and more deserving. Id love to see you guys start a frosh, but it wont happen unless injury comes around. Comparing UF coaching pos. and UT starting qb pos. cant be done. UF coaching pos.-noone is there, were simply hoping for the best coach available. theres no competition, no other option, just who will sign on the dotted line. UTs qb pos.- theres a proven all conf qb already there versus an unproven frosh qb who has nothing but high school trophies. Not a good comparison. Im just wondering why some of you want crompton. Are you not pleased with ainge?

Why was payton manning a starting qb in the nfl for his first year?? Why do football players come up in the next level and start for?? The best will play! fulmer has said that and thats how any coach would go about it the best players will play!!

I believe Crompton will redshirt and be the starter in 2007.

I believe Ainge will have a great Soph. year and will go pro after his Jr. season, opening the door for Jon to be 'da man.

There ya go. It does present a problem if AInge stays all 4 years though. But i guess you never can have enough tallent. But sitting on the bench doesnt exactly please players. The more the marrier i guess :)

i didnt say someone is suppsoe to knock it out of him!!!  Once again he is a good qb.  My only point is the boy thinks he owns ut. Now im sure when you was in school or maybe even work you have met someone cocky before!  So you know excatly what im sayin.  He dont move out of the way for other people to walk by he expects them to move for him.  I here alot of students say he is a jerk, punk, and alot of people dont like his off feild ways!! But thats not what we look at!!

Most of those saying that are Babies, immature punks and whinners cause he was a better QB than Thug boy Schaeffer.

I wont quote anything i dont have on hand or provide some type of link etc.

But somewhere id read, before signing day. JC was promised every chance to compete. On that ill add but not quote', He (JC) added that he would play (start).

He to may have some savy about him? This was all before BS leaving UT. If im correct? Before Ainge was hurt against ND.

I expect some QB race next spring...I havent thought that far into the future of Ainge. If he proves himself, as he has but brief (injury).

He's the NFL type pocket passer. If he has the YR we expect, and another great yr as a Jr. Id see him leaving early, even more so if there is major contention from Crompton.

The deal is, some people here think Crompton will be all-conference quality out of the box.

no offense, but if u have a problem with cocky people, this problem isnt the team for u. as bad as ainge seems, there are probably at least 6-7 other players with just as bad egos. i like it. were gettin even more this year, ie morley and coker. a little ego problem is nothing big to me. i want my players to strut around like they are the best because i want that to translate onto the field.
