Jonathan Davis - Football Recruiting

If Jonathan Davis were three inches taller, well he still wouldn't crack six feet. But he would give Rivals good reason to put him at the top of their rankings, because on the field there is no hiding his pure playmaking ability. Whether he ends up at South Carolina or somewhere else, that team is getting the best "football" player in the state. He has the "Rennie Curran" factor written all over him.

Was committed to USCe but they pulled his scholly because they have too many safeties. Monte visited with him. Hope we can land this guy. Kind small but phenomenal speed.

Highlight film wasn't that impressive. But if Monte thinks he can play that is all I need.

I think if we want him theres a good chance. With Monte visiting him, that says a lot.

Why did USCe pull his scholly because they had to many safeties? He is listed as a linebacker on rivals. Also, 5'-9" is really not that big of deal in college. I think Hefney was only like 5'-7".

No clue, all i know is they have like 5 safeties and need more CBs so they pulled his offer because they are getting low on scholarships.

Were not even on his list.. You think we have a shot VG

you cant rely on that list at all, you have to look into the most recent articles about the player. there are a couple four stars who say we are in the running, but we were never on their radar till lane, monte, and o came to town, so we're not on their list either.

Reasons J. Davis becomes a VOL.

1-Monte Kiffin
2-Lane Kiffin
3-best facilities
4-best tradition of the schools offering to him
5-chance to compete early
6-stay in the SEC East and play against SC every year
7-defenseive scheme---undersized players with quickness excel in the Tampa 2

the excuse that they needed to readjust their priorities is ridiculous. why not take the offer away from one of the other DBs then?

the coach who vouched for him is gone and they pulled the offer. it's that simple.

come to TN, make SC look foolish for the next 4 years.

the 4.37 forty time was recorded at a Scout.com event. let him return punts. let him play RB. with a 4.37 time and fire in your belly, someone is bound to find a use for you.

with a 37" vertical, he can compensate for being only 5'6" to 5'8" depending on which source you trust.

Davis has all kinds of problems. That is the reason USCe pulled the offer. Bad, very bad, grades and an apparent attitude problem.

Kid has a 2.8 GPA and a 22 on his ACT, so where's the grade problem?? I don't think that Rivals would list a 2.8 GPA and a 22 ACT if he had that bad of grade problems.

Also, it appears a coaching change is what caused this. If anything else is underlying then that's a completely different discussion.

He definitly is a big talent but is said to have character problems so take it for what its worth. I think we couldve really used him though. 223 tackles and 9 sacks in one year is sick.

There is a reason UGA hasn't offered him. He has grade and attitude problems. I have heard that from multiple people that would know.
