let's say he does have character problems and that's not something trumped up by those with sour grapes.

with his scholarship pulled, does that mean that Ron Cooper promised to babysit Davis and now with him gone, there's no one to hold the diaper bag?

I personally hope if Davis has problems, that wherever he goes he can work them out and be successful. Monte did visit him, so it seems if they were aware of any issues, that they wanted to investigate personally instead of relying on outside sources.

Give me a shorter guy with a big heart and a chip on his shoulder anyday. By the way, I'm 6'4". This kid will be nasty whereever he goes.

I saw this kid play in person, against us, in the playoffs and he is a man among boys at the HS level. He is short but plays much bigger than he appears on the field. He made a huge impact on O and D in our game and he seemed to play trough pain as he was dinged up more than once. The attitude might be an issue as he dropped the F bomb on one of our coaches after being forced out of bounds on our sideline. Who knows maybe he is just a really intense player.

Looks like we could get him if we want him....

Before committing to South Carolina, Davis said he had also considered offers from Georgia Tech, Boston College, Central Florida, Oklahoma State, UAB, and Louisville. On Monday, only UAB still had an offer on the table, with Davis also waiting to hear back from Central Florida.

“I’m fine, everything is going to work out great,” Davis said. “It’s all in God’s hands, and those are some good hands to be in.”

After being visited by Monte, this guy has completely disappeared off UT's radar. I wonder if his character issues surfaced, or if UT simply went in another direction. His leader is apparently UCF now.

rumor is that he was a silent commit to us until Monday and we quietly informed him that we have our db's. makes me wonder who our silents are.

I know this has been discussed before, but I still don't get the whole silent commit thing. Will some schools not let you visit if you are commited elsewhere? It seems to me like there are several high profile players already commited and they are still taking visits to big time schools. I don't see UT turning down a visit from a 5 star recruit just because he has given a verbal to another school. I really don't see how being a silent commit is necessary. Maybe it is the lower rated players that are silents most of the time. I don't get it.

I am pretty sick of the silent commit thing. Commit is commit, not commit is not commit. What does silent commit do anything good to a recruit

I think it works for the player and the University. The kid gets recruited like he's still un committed and the kid gets the opportunity to change his mind without appearing wishy washy.
