Jones Comments on 2014 Spring Game

My dad took my nephew last year and said it was better than an actual game in several ways:

- greater access to players, coaches, VFLs
- free
- relaxed atmosphere with freedom to move n sit where you like
- tons of fanfare

*the only knock is that the game on the field, by nature, is very different. Almost arena league type atmosphere. All things considered, every Vol fan should make the pilgrimage at least once. If not, every year. GO VOLS!!!

Living in Mobile, too. I've found one other Vol fan during my seven months here. Can't wait until we start winning again.

Keep your eyes peeled, there are quite a few down here. We've been here 6 yrs and have met quite a few....Go Vols

Its the one time of the year you can truly get some face time with the players for autographs etc... from the past two years I can tell you that the players are appreciative of the attention they receive also.

WE set attendance records the past couple years, and with all the excitement from this recruiting class, I really hope everyone shows up this year and we hit that 80k mark.. it would be another national story for UT, the more we can put ourselves on ESPN the better.

Hopefully these guys feed off of our excitement and go out there and really shock the world with some quality wins and a GOOD bowl game in 2014.

Feels good to know we are on our way up.

TEAM 118 GETS IT.... #GBO

This year will be my 1st O&W game. I can't wait. How early would you recommend to get there for autographs? Can you bring your own merchandise for them to sign? Any info would help. Thanks.

Its usually a few hours before start time, autograph times will be posted in advance... and yes you can bring your own gear in to have signed, they also open up the store so you can get the newest gear around. Whichever you prefer...

It is a great time for everyone involved

I seriously doubt Hurd will be playing in the O&W game. They will be cautious with his shoulder IMO. They need him 100% and ready to go by game 1.

I agree. BUT, we got other stud RBs who will be fun to watch. I believe Shirley and I will be there.

I'm going to try to get all I can from the spring game because after that it's 4 months of football withdrawel pains. There is that counting the hours till SEC Media days.

Didn't he hurt it at the first of this season? I wouldn't be surprised if he is back by the spring game. He needs all the reps he can get.

You must attend HS games if you saw him injured. Since he just signed, why do you think 'he needs all the reps he can get'????????

He has had the time to heel. It will be hard to keep him out of it. If he can practice leading up to the game, then he will play. It would be crazy to think he goes through spring practice and not play.

Everybody and their brother will be at the spring game this year.

Side note: Bama sets records cause husbands and brothers get counted as two, even though it's the same guy.

Haven't been posting much lately, but had to admit this post was worth the trip here today! Nicely done, vollygirl! :hi:

Vols are on the way out of the hole Hamilton dug for us. What a hire. Loving Butch Jones so much, I'm afraid if I started posted I'd become a sunshine pumper. Imagine that!

Go Big Orange!

Let's charge $1 pp to enter the Spring game and with that $85,000, let's hire a super sleuth detective to follow the kids most prone to getting in trouble on the Strip. Butch did a good job of keeping the kids on the field last year and we just need to make sure all these young Frosh keep their eye on the ball as Ktown has plenty of distractions for 18 year old men.

Actually I read an article about him getting injured smarta$$. I'm assuming he is gonna play as a true freshmen so I would say he definitely needs as many reps as possible. Playing against d1 speed is a lot different than high school speed, so the more reps he can get the better he will be. The reason these guys enroll early is to go through winter workouts, spring practices and scrimmages. It makes no sense to hold him out if he is he's
healthy.

Any indication from CBJ on the format this year? Sure would like to see a true Orange vs. White scrimmage if we can muster the depth. It would be a sacrifice of one day of down-and-dirty situational work, but well worth it, imo, to get your fanbase stoked for the year to come.

With average ticket prices for an SEC game sitting around a cool $80, by far the biggest factor here was the one that started with F and ended with REE

Charge $2.00 a person and give the money to Thig.

Two questions: 1. What time does it all kick off?
2. What time should I be in line to not be stuck at the top?
