Jordan Horston makes the Sports Center top ten

Holla when that happens. She is SLOW. Did you not see her grab her player and hold her when she got beat? I get it. No Critical thinking allowed in here.
Kellie acknowledged she had a couple of freshman fouls in her presser, but that she also can play her at multiple positions. She’ll continue to learn.

PUCKETT is a Liability. Too slow, so she fouls whoever she guards. KJ needs to put a quick Guard in and let Puckett sit more.

Let me understand what you are saying …… A player in a game of basketball would actually HOLD another player !!!!!!!! NAH …. Nobody who has ever played this game of basketball has EVER BEEN HELD ! You OBVIOUSLY HAVE NEVER PLAYED THIS GAME ???????
“ There’s no holding in basketball “ 😈

How could that have been different? Would another coach, say Jeff W for example, have developed her more effectively? What should have been done differently?

I've been critical of Kellie, but I actually don't put Horston on her. JH clearly has her own issues that go way beyond coaching...

JH is so versatile and contributes so much in so many areas. She also seems to be a great teammate and leader off the court. She's grown alot this season and obviously, I'm really glad we have her.

In light of that, you really hate to "what if" her, but when I watch all that talent I can't help it. What if she could actually shoot and didn't turn the ball over so much? She would easily be among the top 3 best players in the country. She seems to be working hard so maybe . . .

Next year could be awesome for her.

Agree to disagree. Walker and Miles have struggled against the press a few times and the length of JH helps as an outlet against the press. But IMO both of them get the LVs in a workable half court offense better than JH who overdribbles while deciding and we get stagnent. Lately Miles seems to be getting the O moving better than anyone. That's not to disparage Walker who's doing so much to help especially w some timely 3s lately.

Good observations.

I think that's right, and getting the head and decision making straight on a really talented player is sometimes the hardest part. Some of JH adjustment struggles may be due to the coaching change, her re-recruitment, plus some overinflated expectations coming in. None of that was really her "fault". Maybe took her a minute (or 2 yrs) to get all bought into the system, but she sure seems to be there now and the improvements are obvious. At this point I'm not sure what her ceiling is but she's currently helping us win games and rebuild so that's a good thing.

Not directing this comment at you but dang some people just can't see the donut. I am loving JH's locked in intensity and her on court presence. She is giving other players confidence. LEADERSHIP. Yeah, she makes some mistakes but who doesn't? The best player in the county Caitlin Clark had some cruciasl TOs and missed some open, game changing shots in Iowa's loss. I guess she is a major disappointment....

The funniest diss i've heard on her is she is an All SEC type player but not all american quality. But she JUST made the naismith late season top 20. If her numbers stay up and her team finishes off the season nicely i could see her being a second or third team all american

Wow!! Puckett should make the SEC all freshman team. She also had a double double when we needed her and for her size has more than adequate quicks.
The quickest guard on the team will get plenty of opportunities as she developes. This whole freshman class is going to contribute a lot.

It's way too early to make such a dire assessment. She finds a way to stuff the stat sheet in spite of some ongoing struggles, and we're winning games we would never win without her. She's definitely improving. Let's have this discussion this time next year.

Also, there's always the chance the "raw talent" was overrated. I quit relying on that sh*t about 15 "great" 3 pt shooter recruits ago.
WTH are you talking about “way too early to make such an assessment”? The correct response was go to hell you idiot! She is a fabulous player and leader on our team!! No need to wait and see.
Good god!!!!!!

Calm down. IMO 3/4 of the way thru a career is too early to assess the overall impact or the upper limit of that career, which was the original discussion. And 30 is too young to write an autobiography. That's all.

Lucy, gotta say, I am soooh jealous of that line. If you said that to someone to face-to-face, they would immediately turn to stone, #MedusaLegend.

On the original "I shall extinguish all sunshine," dig, of course a 5-6 guard who could be a track star if she switched sports is going to be faster than Puckett in the open court. She is going to be faster than a LOT of players. But on this exchange, Puckett read the angle like a great cornerback, got in position, did not go for the fake, and blocked the damn shot. How someone takes that play as evidence that Puckett can't play is, well you said it.....

In the glass half category, Puckett is looking viable in the post. She may become that Sid Spencer player who can play on the wing or the post in some stretches.
Puckett is a much more proficient shooter than many of her teammates. She rarely does the bunny thing thing that at happens way too much on this team still. They just miss too many shots and still have managed these great Wilson. Think what they could do with better shooting percentage and free throws. They certainly have the courage and want to and play from the heart.

Puckett was the one that brought the "extra" from the loss of Green
