Fans didn’t see anything new over the weekend, but Les Miles and new offensive coordinator Steve Kragthorpe left no doubt: Jefferson was awarded the team’s “comprehensive Spring Award for Outstanding Leadership, Effort and Performance,” and Kragthorpe said emphatically after watching his Outstanding Leader complete four of 14 passes with an interception, no touchdowns and two fumbles, “Jordan is our starter.”

Can LSU fans survive another year of Jordan Jefferson, starting quarterback? Do they have a choice? - Dr. Saturday - NCAAFBlog - Yahoo! Sports

I don't watch a whole lot of SEC football, and the only game that I can remember watching with jefferson last year was against Tennessee last year, and he seemed like he was pretty bad.

My question to you is this-just how bad is he, and why is LSU's staff so hell-bent on having him as the quarterback?

The good thing about Jefferson is his size and he's good on his feet. Still don't understand how LSU hasn't found a better replacement for both with all that LA talent nearby.

If he took off and ran every third play he would be more of a threat. Course that brings in a whole new set of problems.

Jefferson is just bad at everything needed to be a competent quarterback. Somehow, Lee is doing the impossible, and is more awful.

If this is all true, LSU-Oregon is probably going to be like a 17-14 game. Not going to be much scoring, I don't think.

If it comes down to a coaching competition it will be a duck walk in the park.

Unfortunately, I think the Les Miles Voodoo Factor™ overrides this.

And if Chip Kelly coaches like he did in the NCG...I'm not so sure he won't be the one getting outcoached.

LSU has got to be the only program in the country with a coach that stupid and a quarterback that bad...that competes for championships. How in the hell do they do it? I'm so excited for the day when Miles' four leaf clover shrivels up and dies and things finally begin to collapse on him. He's built up enough karma for 18 people, and he's on his 10th life. I just don't get it.

As bad as Jefferson might have seemed, UT's defense was even worse. In that game at least. Jefferson made our defense look stupid on an 83-yard TD run. Embarrassing.

Jordan Jefferson is a great quarterback!!! I don't want to see him when they come to Knoxville this year.

I'm not... we all need Lester to win just enough to keep his job at LSU, so someone doesn't come in and win SEC and National Championships again and again and again.

If I was Les I'd start Mettenberger, he is probably the best and most complete quarterback on that roster.

Waggner fell at his ankles.

One play doesn't mean Jefferson played worth a damn that day against Tennessee.

Hell, Jefferson got pulled for Lee.

I get what you're saying. Kind of like Richt at Georgia. But hell, albeit with Saban's talent, Miles has still won a NC and they're still in the thick of things every single year.

That was the point I was trying to make. Somewhat.

I know that play was a result of Waggner not making a play. But the fact is it happened. Jefferson is an awful QB and didn't play well that game, but UT's defense didn't play much better. That is the point I was making.
