"We're moving slowly but surely into the 21st century in determining what's good for the fans,'' Diesing said. "This allows controlled access to beer and wine at concession stands, and I think it'll work out to be a fan-friendly result.''

Selling beer at Tennessee Baseball would be a game changer.

Unfortunately, keeping UT as a "dry" campus and not having beer sales at baseball or at the arena is a decision that has to start with the state legislature and they have strongly rebuffed even having a discussion about the idea.

I imagine it's a liability issue. If alcohol is sold and there's a person killed alcohol involved, they are liable. Especially since there's no logistically sound way to keep track of how much a person bought and they brought their own to go with it.

Good article on Elander in today's Knoxville News Sentinel. He can show the prospects how to get to the next level since he played minor league baseball in the Braves organization.

Heard they have a new assistant coach, Ross Kivett. He is a volunteer assistant coach or however they classify that position. He played at Kansas State, very good outfielder and hitter. He was in the Detroit Tigers organization where he made it to AA. Good player, very high energy guy.
