IMO, if he doesnt get over his soph jinx it'll be by different rotations. Ive been really high on Fellows and Wade, Roshaun i expected to step up a notch from his frosh all-gonna be sweet year. Wade, once moved to the D and learned packages he'd be hard to beat down field. Fellows is a darn good DB that can tackle, he's just hurt us by being out of position to do so. I dont blame coach Slade but i would really like to know why we play so off/soft?
If its 3rd and 5-18, with the front we had and will have again this season minus some studs, but backed by just as eager and sound run stoppers. Why are we letting 3-5 yard passes go for 10-20 yard first downs? Why are WR picking up YAC?
I know we rely heavy on LBs in some coverage situations, but most were not the case. I could as most name several 3rd and long, and here goes a 7 yard pass for 20-25 yards.
Allen shut that crap down on his side, well it never was a threat, otherwise we were off by 2 steps that led to first downs...Allen could let you make a 5 yard grab on 3rd-8 then stuff it. Hef has that 6th sense comming on, reading a QB's eyes. But at Safety, he's going to get looked off alot until someone takes their chances and makes it work.
Looking at tape, game after game etc, D-Mo is special, he made a few attempts for the ball instead of at the WR as he is coached. IMO thats just him learning the pace of the game at this level. I question if he'll stay at safety, he has a knack for the ball. Inky made strides screw his size, Chavis banks on his ability to fool people.
Im really excited about this D secondary, youth/wisdom size/undersized. Tons of ability and depth to back it up.GO VOLS!
