Joshua Dobbs to ride the pine for Thursday's Brown's Game

I've always liked Josh Dobbs as a VFL but I never thought that he was NFL material. That said, I'm very happy for him in that he's earned five and a half million so far in the NFL and apparently he'll make another $2mill this year since the Browns guaranteed his salary. Don't know if that was a Haslam VFL special or what but I'm happy for him and wish him all the best.

Best job in the country. Backup quarterback with a baseball cap on and a clipboard!
Absolutely! So Dobbs will be at $7.4M at the end of this season. I see him having a great career as a backup QB. He makes everyone in the QB room better, as well as serving as a quality QB when needed. Here are some numbers from a few other career backups:

Chase Daniel - $41.8M over 14 seasons - currently a free agent
Brian Hoyer - $32.6M over 14 seasons - on a two year deal with the Raiders. With guarantees he is at $38M
Blaine Gabbert - $25.9M over 12 seasons - on a one year deal with KC. With guarantees he is at $27M
Tyrod Taylor - $65.1M over 12 seasons - on a one year deal with NYG. With guarantees he is at $67.6M
Jacoby Brissett - $42M over seven years - on a one year deal with Washington. With guarantees he is at $49.5M

Not to shabby :)

Great information.. If Hooker can stick around that long and will probably be legit starter one day.. compound money today compared to The Hooker in 5 yrs.. His Great Grand children will thank him

I appreciate your moral support, frog, I really do, but they took him-they shot this pick like a bottle rocket for reasons that everyone on this board could’ve told them was a serious mistake. HH was sitting there at the ready, but they they decided to go with this Kentucky underachiever. The whole thing just hurts, and I’ll feel much better when he is floating around like Marcus Mariotta…drifting in the wind until he is as far from our borders as possible. This is his ceiling after all, and anyone with a functioning mind could have told them that.

Oh no doubt they shouldn't have taken him. Definitely shouldn't have traded up to get him, even if they didn't draft Hooker, they should've got Tilman or Hyatt.
I would've signed Dobbs just as insurance for when Tannehill goes down. Let Malik run the show, he is looking better and likely will have a little more polish on him around mid season when Tannehill goes down lol but also in 24 TN would have more $$ to go after people, grab a QB in that draft which looks to be loaded at the moment. No need to reach on Levis IMO. There's a reason he fell out of the 1st round.

The Browns are giving Thursday's start to rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Kellen Mond will also play while Dobbs and Deshaun Watson will not play. Thompson-Robinson has looked great in action this year as Dobbs has not looked as sharp. This leaves people wondering if Dobbs may be in danger of being cut. Although I do not have a crystal ball, I would say there is absolutely no way the Browns cut Dobbs. Joshua signed a one year $2M deal with the Browns. The interesting part of his contract is that is is fully guaranteed. Kellen Mond is still on his rookie deal he signed with the Vikings. He is due $1.3M this year, and none of which is guaranteed. It looks to me like Mond may be the odd man out now the NFL allows teams to carry a third QB that doesn't count toward the 46-man active roster limit.

Joshua Dobbs is staying with the Browns. Not such good news for Kellen Mond. He was cut today.

I like Josh Dobbs but to me had Haslams Cleveland team not picked him up he might well be jobless.

Dobbs heads to the desert to potentially compete for the Cardinals' starting job, which has not yet been settled between veteran Colt McCoy and rookie Clayton Tune. Dobbs has familiarity with Arizona's new offense, which is coordinated by former Browns tight ends and quarterbacks coach Drew Petzing, and should be considered a legitimate candidate to win the job in Arizona while the Cardinals await Kyler Murray's return from ACL surgery.

got to love how the tit-tans gave him away for nothing to the browns and they trade him to Arizona for a 5th round pick in next years draft.titans gonna titan i guess, still cant get over trading up for will i throw picks levis while could of stood pat and drafted hooker who already proven to be 10 times better.makes it hard to be tit-tans fan.at least we sold out thier stadium and showed them what they could have had if they wernt brain dead as a organization.

Titans make it hard to root for them. They still play Fisher ball. Could've kept Dobbs cheap and had 3 QB's. Tannehill will go down sometime this season most likely.
They didn't have to pick Hooker either. They should've got Tillman or Hyatt and finished rounding out the team and then leveraged to get a QB in the 24 draft that looks to be stacked.
