Jr. to drive 3 at Daytona in Nationwide Series?

The real question is how much longer is NASCAR going to allow RCR to cock-block the rest of NASCAR from using the #3.

NASCAR owns all numbers - most notably the 3 - and only annually leases them to teams, although they retain the full sights to remove, replace or switch them at any time.

Teams can agree to allow other teams to use the number, but even then, NASCAR's approval is required before it can be entered beneath that new team.

So I guess the better question would be when is someone going to be brave enough to request using it.

Larry McReynolds & Mike Skinner tried a few years ago when they started a team in the Truck Series, but a bunch of fans went ape. "THAWT'S URNHART'S NUMBER!" and so on.

McReynolds & Skinner chose another number.

He's definitely driving the #3 tonight.

Also, the new Mustang and Challenger cars are sweet.

Congrats to Jr.

Tonight he and the #3 were the only car that would feel right in Victory Lane and that's what happened, this will carry over in the Cup series as well. Congrats Dale and team you deserved this.

I'm not ashamed to admit I was pulling for him, love the look of the new car, but since when were Impalas and Camrys pony cars?

Now how long before someone puts Junior's win in the "it was a fix" category?

Those Challengers are freaking sweet.

Really cool to see Jr. win for a change, too.

+1 The Challenger looks awesome on the track! Too bad Chevy decided to stick with the Impala in Nationwide, coulda been a neat series with the pony wars and the import!

Congrats, Junior! I am not a big fan of yours, but it was good to see you win last night! The 3 in victory lane just looks right!

Hope it carries over to tonight. I never liked Dale Sr. at all but that was good to see last night.

I was blown away with the look of those challengers. They are really nice.

Is the grand am market big?
I guess they think it is. I've always thought of it as kind of second rate.
