'19 JUCO DE Nick Figueroa

CJP is selling the "Come to Tennessee and Build Your Own Brand". He's showing the recruits that it is a business and how he will help them get where they want to get to "the league". That is coupled with a bare bone depth chart and a chance to play early. It's hard to pass up for most recruits. That's why we are in on these guys as late as it is (ESD is tomorrow) and we got them visioning running through the "T".

I know all the analysts keep talking about distance, but that post-visit interview makes me think we have a very real shot here.

No, I don't think distance is an obstacle with this kid, either. He says he may as well get used to traveling and being away from home now because he wants to play in the League one day.

Anybody but me uncomfortable when the interviewer starts asking about Southern Cal. I don't think it is the right time or place ( if it ever is ) to start talking about other schools. Kind of like when they tried to pin Fields down to confirm that he was going to be at Georgia next year.

Something slimy about those questions to me.

they're standing in the airport while the kid is waiting for a flight. whatever you're going to ask, you better ask it, and it's not slimy to ask about the other schools he's considering. you're tyring to get a feel for where we're at relative to those other places.

it is what it is.

SEC Football Website Papparazzi - Guess they gotta eat too....But you’re right, Figueroa was getting tired / frustrated at the questions in the end..

Distance is an obstacle....imo
not according to him. he was asked point blank about distance, and he said it wasn't an issue. not sure that i expected him to say anything different, but they way he was answering questions, i think he was probably being pretty candid with his answers.
