Debatable.

Did you know that Butch Jones interviewed at UK before UT? Failed to impress, obviously.

Please don't tell me you subscribe to the Matt Jones and KSR theory? Jones passed on UK. You seriously think Barnhart would pass on a guy with his success in a city that UK needs to be consistently relying on for a guy who's never been a HC who helped his brother fail miserably at Zona?

Stoops benefited from having talent oozing out of the Gatorade coolers in Tallahassee, its Zona talent all over, if he's even that lucky.

So, I don't really want to join in the mud slinging, but it isn't that hard to break down. UK got their 2nd choice, while UT got their 5th or 6th.

Silly argument.

So we had one coach pass in private, you got turned down several times, all of them publicly and embarrassingly - I think I'll take it.

The argument had nothing to do with what choice each school got. McCat implied UT got an inferior coach that even UK passed on. I'm sure if we had sought a career coordinator we would've landed our first choice too, or if we simply sought Butch from the beginning. Getting turned down by Gruden and Gundy isn't embarrassing, it was embarrassing even offering Gundy when it was obvious he was never leaving.

That's because UT's 6th or 7th choice is UK's 1st or 2nd choice. Silly argument.

KY fans trying trying to talk trash towards UT fansabout football is so precious. Congrats on the one 4-star recruit your class will have. Poor kid will never know what it feels like to beat a team better than Western Kentucky.

Nevermind, KY can't beat them either.

As it should be, the problem is that your water trash program slipped to 6th or 7th - if UT is such a great program why did a big east coach turn down 3M+ year to be there?

hasbeen program

Big East coach is now the highest paid coach in the ACC because of our offer. The coach you got was not in consideration for any hc coaching position, anywhere. So you're in the SEC and thats the best you can do.

You mean like when big east coach Rich Rod turned down bama? Are they a has been program as well?

Hell, you are giving your new coach a bonus every time he wins more than 1 SEC game. That's straight up embarrassing.

I'd get into how ridiculously flawed this argument is, but the ensuing discussion would result in me supporting an AD I don't like.

Tennessee's record in the last 5 years is something like 28-33ish - for such a tradition rich program that should be unacceptable.

Look my only point was that as a UK football fan I'm finally excited about something - I understand that the tradition and trajectories of our two programs couldn't be more different but that won't keep me from sticking up for my team (even though I hate them 90% of the time).
