'21 JUCO RB Tiyon Evans

FWIW I have no idea what he's talking about with UT's RB coach vs. Kitchings...

Gillespie's (UT's RB coach) claim to fame is coaching Kamara, where Vols fans will tell you he was completely misused and under-utilized for his entire career there. He also coached Kendall Hunter at Oklahoma State and his next-best RB of record coached was either Jalen Hurd, who ended up playing TE at Baylor, or Corey Boyd at South Carolina.

oh, i get that, i'm taking more the angle of him actually committing right now.....never actually visted, was considered a strong USCe lean etc......

i'm not against this committment at all lol.....just kind outta left field.

he offeres some flexibility with numbers too...he didn't visit, so he could blueshirt if needed.
Sounds like they were playing Brown’s commitment against him. We’ll take both obviously.

Yes. Love those bowling ball RBs.

Same here, especially those with speed, vision & shiftiness like Evans. Thrilled with this get!

Evans is a bowling ball type back at 5’9 225 pounds. Low center of gravity with an extreme skill for bouncing off tacklers and staying balanced. He has very quick feet and is very twitchy while running, juking, spinning and jump-cutting with ease, leaving defenders tackling air or falling down. He has very good speed and with his thick frame creates power for running up the middle. He has a feel for bouncing the run outside but never seems to run east to west, he is always looking for a crease to get up the field.

He is a weapon in the return game for Hutchinson, running back three kickoffs during his freshman season.

When I watch him, I think of LSU’s about to be 2nd round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Evans is slightly bigger than Helaire (5’7 210) but both are small, very shifty, elusive backs. Helaire was known for being one the most versatile backs in college, catching 55 balls during the season. Evans can be that player. He has shown he can line up out wide as well and run routes while catching the ball downfield as well as in traffic. Helaire was also known for having the highest broken tackle rate in college football and his film looks very similar to how Evans runs the ball.

“Honestly, South Carolina was a good school for me. But I don’t know. I did some research, and just comparing the running back coach at Tennessee and the running back coach at South Carolina and their history. And Tennessee’s history is amazing. That’s the place.

“My family loves Tennessee. My mom always wanted me to be away from South Carolina. South Carolina, it ain’t always been a good place for me, so I’m trying to move my family somewhere else.”

Talk about a kick in the dick to a program and coach.

All that “reserve your spot” stuff had to be aimed towards this guy. They’d take Brown at any point in the calendar. This guys spot might have been dependent on getting in before Brown and another HS back.
ok, yeah, i can see that....i didn't know if you were implying that Brown was going to take his spot or vice versa....cause it seems both are definite takes.....

He took that “No Reservations” tweet from CJG seriously.
