Juco recruits steered away from UT

How many have we lost who were placed in Miss. Or other places? Martin was with UT a long time and chief leaving LSU saved us from loosing him.

Karama and his girlfriend both came to UT so it is a special case. We got good ones this year but we've lost many in the past.

Good thing we didn't "loose" Kamara. Gotta be careful with how treat these JUCOs though..... Karama's a beotch.

I live in Cleveland TN, there is no room anywhere near Cleveland State for a stadium and their enrollment could not support that. Plus they just lost accreditation recently. They'll get it back but football programs are super expensive and Cleveland Tn couldn't support that unless Check Into Cash bank rolled it.

Alan Jones has plenty of wealth to spread. Just saying, it's a horrible Idea

I'm in the works to set up a Juco in Hawaii. It will be called "VOL Academy". Kids who were/ are interested in UT are welcome to sign on. If when it's time for them to make their college decision it's not the VOLS, I have an agreement with the airports to not allow them off the island. TIFWIW

....good idea but what about the boats? Better inform them and make sure no Carnival ships are nearby.:)

Problem is the money. Very few JCs in Tennessee have dorms. Also travel expense. In Mississippi, Kansas and Cali there are several jucos so to travel to games isn't a huge deal by bus. If Tennessee had a couple they would have to travel all the way to Mississippi to play and that would cost bucks.. Also to start up a fball program with equipment, uniforms, weight rooms, dining halls, coaches, admin, and all the other costs involved would probably have a startup fee of over 2 or 3 million.. Its a great idea, its just 40 years too late.

I guess I'll have to make a career sacrifice and coach at a JUCO here in MS. Its the only way to funnel kids to Tennessee. Its for the greater good.

JUCO's are not always the answer for a football program.

Look how many Ole Miss and Miss St have how low they are always ranked (exception was this year).

A couple every few years helps, but the are usually in JUCO for a reason.

That's EXACTLY right. IMO too many JUCOs is a major reason Jackie Sherril lost his job at State... They are in and out of the program so quick it's hard to establish long-term success

Oh, I thought you had facts, not just speculation OP.

In theory having a Juco program in TN that would basically be UT's farm team would be awesome. With that said, it's just not feasible, or logical at all considering all the money that it would cost, and everything else that comes into play.

We have good relationships with junior colleges already. Yes the Mississippi junior colleges are problem but I'm sure we're not going to be sending our kids there anymore.

This is why we should take over a Juco by Knoxville and do the works.
