Tennessee is sit to host its biggest official visit weekend of the year as the Vols are expecting to host seven official visitors.
First off are the three junior college commitments, Jeff George, Alexis Johnson and DJ Henderson.
George took an official visit to Auburn earlier in the month but from talking to several close to the situation we don't think there's much to worry about at this time. It seems while there was some mutual interest it hasn't been very serious so far for either part, Auburn or George. But, we all know Auburn's track record with junior college guys so you can never count them all the way out if they decide to make a push the last few weeks of the juco recruiting period.
Johnson has been someone that has seen his stock rise over the course of the season. Alabama and Texas A&M in particular have tried to make him a priority but Johnson maintains that he's firmly committed to the Vols and Tennessee will be his only visit.
Henderson will be making his first ever trip to Knoxville and is looking forward to being in town.
The Vols will be hosting two uncommitted junior college prospects in Jonathan Kongbo and Jordan Bonner.
Most believe Kongbo is more ready to play at this time in their careers and his offer list reflects that. He's already visited Ole Miss and Oregon State and after his Tennessee visit this weekend look for him to visit Oregon and one other program, possibly one of the Arizona schools, for his final two official visits. As of this weekend, Tennessee has as good a shot as anyone, but the pull to head back closer to home and play in the Northwest could be strong, especially with Oregon offering earlier this week.
As for Bonner, the long and tall defensive lineman will be using his first official visit for the Vols. He told us earlier this week he's very excited for his visit and we've been told that Tennessee is likely the team to beat at this point.
It will be interesting to see how things play out if both Kongbo and Bonner enjoy their visits and if one of the two would like to do something. We believe the Vols would likely only take one more junior college defensive lineman (more on that below).
