You're delusional.
You Dooley haters/Butch lovers have backed yourselves into a corner. You blamed Dooley because his teams couldn't beat anyone and the D sucked.
So Butch is hired and all off-season this place is buzzing with Butch Mania. You all were even making fun of Dooley's "Year 0". Well, here we are and it looks a lot worse than 2012.
Now, you're saying the cupboard is bare on D and you can't expect Butch to win with these players.
So you bash Dooley and defend Butch for the same thing?
By the way, I thought it was time for Dooley to go.
I'm delusional?
I'm pretty sure that you're the one making up entire arguments for me, due to your own inability to think rationally. Creating make-believe arguments would seem to be textbook definition of "delusional."
You're the one panicking after a few games (after 3 years of dismal results) and spouting gloom and doom. The first sign of something bad happening, and you immediately start pointing fingers and calling for change. By your standards, Nick Saban, Jim Harbaugh, Frank Beamer, and Bobby Bowden would've all been fired before they ever had a chance to win.
I'm not a "Butch lover" or "Dooley hater." I said the exact same things during Dooley's first year. As the football coach, he has to have some time. We gave him three years and it became clear that no results were forthcoming. If we had hired Nick Saban, we still wouldn't have been much better than 6-6 or 7-5 in 2010. Likewise, if we had Nick Saban right now, we'd probably still be 3-2.
Turn-arounds take time. I don't know whether Butch will be able to succeed or not, but I'm certainly not giving up on him simply because we're 3-2 and lost to the two teams we were expected to lose to.
What I can say with great certainty is that our defense is much better looking this year than last year. Our offense is worse, but that was expected given that we lost Bray, Patterson, and Hunter.
