Tennessee is just as competitive in the NIL space as any major national brand. There is a misunderstanding though in how NIL is actually working. The NIL deals that are actually moving the needle have more to do with individual marketability and team brand recognition. Example: Hyatt scored 5 td’s against Bama, emerges on the national scene, wins the Biletnikoff then signs a deal with Hyatt Hotels… Hendon was a marketable starting QB tied to a national brand, Heisman front runner, etc…

Truth: If you are a 5* offensive tackle with no personality or personal brand appeal; NIL is going to be really disappointing for you… That is going to be the case for the vast majority of these athletes.

It is going to, in our case already has, create resentment amongst teammates

This article is dated 12/9/2022. Why would someone who is about go into the NFL draft sign with an NIL agency such as ESM instead of a representation agency such as CAA? I know this sounds ridiculous; however, this could point at Jalin looking to return next year? I personally think he has too much to lose as he is projected a first round pick. I would love to see him back though.

Bama before it was legal. That's why Saban is ticked off it's legal. Now other programs will (have already) pass them up in regards to pay for play.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Bammers lead the charge to try and suppress or regulate NIL across sports.
