Just read Limbaugh's comments in context

So is it hypocritical from a government force perspective?

Its a bit more convoluted than that, of course.

And how do you answer the point that the GOP says on the one hand we need less government but then on the other wants government to regulate marriage and abortion?

Neither side is without its inconsistencies on the issue, although the GOP's is a bit more remarkable in that they arrogantly and rather smugly claim moral high ground on both points, even though taking patently contradictory positions on them.

Washington hypocrisy knows no bounds in relation to party, race, sex or religion.

To pretend that this is any thing other than grandstanding, to provide weight to another Obamacare talking point, is just ignorant.

You are correct. My objection is that the hypocrisy alleged is demanding the government stay out of the bedroom but then demanding it pay for birth control. The latter statement is incorrect as it is a mandated coverage for private insurance at issue.

So the second part would have been correct if it has said "I demand that the government force my employer/insurance company/every other customer of that insurance company to pay for my birth control"?

It will be interesting to see what happens in the elections this year. I think we are finally getting to the point that the candidates will actually run on the role and size of govt. Here are the problems for both parties as summarized in this thread:
1. Republicans: if they actually do believe in a limited govt...they should start voting accordingly. They are just as much to blame for this bloated mess as the Dems.
2. Democrats: They will have trouble convincing the general public that growing the government is a good thing. Obama's ego is big enough to try it.

It would be more accurate. Not 100 %, though, if you leave out all of the mandated coverages the GOP has insisted on over the years.

I won't argue on the marriage front. I don't agree with the GOP establishment on most issues regarding marriage.

However, to say that being pro-life is a big government stance is completely absurd. One is pro-life because one views abortion as a form of murder. Being anti-murder is in no way, shape, or form a big government or small government stance.

Funny how that gets twisted by the left and most of the Dem voters just lap it up.

It's not convoluted. They are also hypocrites.

But if your position is "the government should stay out of decisions regarding my health/body/bedroom", then shouldn't you be opposed to all of these mandates, including birth control coverage. You've acknowledged the hypocrisy on both sides, but you seem to be totally okay with the liberal hypocrisy because it reflects your personal preferences.

that's because republicans have idiotic ideas written in crayon while democrats take nuanced and complicated positions that only mouth breathing republicans can't comprehend.

Nice to see that you're finally coming around.

I pulled my data from them.

my bestfriend who is a bigger conservative than me and backs up his stuff pulled.

my mom who has pictures backed up pulled.

we pulled our personal stuff

that's 4 right there.

this is going to hurt carbonite more than it will hurt rush.
That's the part of this that I don't get. In the scheme of things, the slut comment - though over the line- is hardly out of character as far as intentionally absurd comments from Rush go. Why pick an issue like this to make a stand?

. . . And the best selective outrage I saw today - Don Imus calling out Rush.

A board with no hair on their sacks.
Cancelled all four of my accounts today and my company will tomorrow.
