I agree with a previous poster that stated we have to play a complete game. We need to play our best football game of the year, all four quarters. It doesn't matter what ESPN or CFN has to say, I know Fulmer and staff will have this team prepared and focused to not only compete but to WIN. GO VOLS!!

Another article hyping the DL of a UT opponent. That's all we hear game week is how the great DT and DE will shread the UT line. Each week "all-americans" come in and leave saying quotes like - "wow, those guys are good", or "they really beat us today". i.e. Cal and Georgia....:rtfm:

Yeah, we've gotten some mediocre teams and have gotten away without playing 60 minutes. LSU will not allow us to do that.

Well, I agree with the coach and team speak on this one. There were many opportunities for us to put away Alabama and especially South Carolina. IMO those games were only as close as we allowed them to be.

Great point dude, other than UF we've shut down every vauted DL we've faced this year. UGA, Cal, USC, Bama...all had D-lines we were supposed to fear...especially UGA and Cal...and Sears, Young and Co. shut them down. I expect no less Saturday.

I think UT's ranking is pretty respectful LG. I think you are just trying to suck up to the Volnation.

I think if you go back Lex and look at the weeks prior to the official release of the BCS, the Vols were being talked about as the best 1-loss team in the nation, etc. However, after the BCS came out and the Vols were at #11 behind Cal... for 3 weeks straight... the media has focused less on the Vols. My guess is the BCS rank also influenced the human voters to drop the Vols from 7th to 8th. If the Vols do indeed survive both LSU and Arkansas, they'll be in the top 5 of the BCS based upon a big jump in the computer rankings, and the Vols will again be mentioned in the media as a contender.

Apparently we don't stand a chance. They pick the score 20-13 LSU but if you actaully read the scouting report you'll see that we are completely outmanned in every aspect of the game. Russell is the most accurate QB in the history of the world when he's not pressured and we won't be able to pressure him, LSU is going to run the ball all over us, thier going to sack our QB everytime he drops back, and in the rare case that he's not sacked he's going to be intercepted everytime he gets a pass off.
I don't know why we're even playing this game. We should just forfeit. Fulmer and Co. should just say "I quit" and run home with their heads tucked between their legs.
I don't mean to whine to much though. I understand it's just their opinion of how the two teams match up and LSU is very talented. I guess I just want a little more respect for us. We are in the top 10, have whipped two teams that were in the top 10 when we played(one of which still is),we're 7-1 with the only loss being by 1 point to a very good top 10 team and we get practically no love from anyone.
Even last week, before the game....South Carolina was an excellent team that had only lost some very close games to some very good teams and had a very good chance of beating us. After the game though, it was Tennessee barely escaped against an outmanned team and then we get no love in the BCS even after USC lost to Oregon St. Shouldn't we get some credit for beating that team that everyone was hyping before the game at their place in front of a wild crowd. This just doesn't add up to me. But I guess I am biased. Oh well, just my weekly rant about no respect. I'm starting to be like Rodney Dangerfield.

You are correct. I think UT has been quite the media darling this year, mostly based on the throttling of Cal.

Well, its basically an aside. Is the #11 team in the bcs really worth that much attention? Especially with all the bcs subplots...Auburn and ND coaches crying, WV at #3 though they dont deserve it, Florida or Texas sneaking into title game, osu-mich loser possibly getting a rematch.

Lets just keep in mind that LSU has YET to win on the road. AND LSU has only beat 1 team w/ a winning record. I personally like the fact that UT gets no respect coming into this game.UT gets a chance to prove that they are capable of beating anybody in the nation this saturday. By the way when did the "press" get so behind LSU? i mean didn't LSU have 2 meltdowns this year. AU-UF just shows how fickle the press is. screw em!!! GO VOLS!!! BEAT LSU!!!

i agree with Lex on this one...plus if Ainge doesn't play, that's a decided advantage for them. and i can't see LSU losing 3 straight on the road in the same fashion they've lost.

if we do win, it will be because we got a lot of help...realistically, with the absence of a running game, putting the game on Crompton's arm is an unrealistic way to win this game. I think Crompton has a ton of talen and he'll be very good in the future...but one week of practice with the one's to get ready for this defense....just not enough. i think we can keep it close and maybe have a chance to win, but LSU's d will be the difference in the end....

I never thought I'd say this, and although I do happen to think LSU ought to be favored in your game this weekend, I nonetheless agree that UT is not getting the respect it deserves based on the season it has had and the way it is playing now.

Well said Lawgator I also think that if Louisville jumps in front of you guys it would not be a fair ranking.
