Highlights:

This was the best game OSU has played in several years

He feels they were embarrassed from UM game, had a lot to prove

He wonders if they will have same mindset next week. Loosing to Oregon was not the same as loosing to a .500 UM team

He still wonders if OSU will make a change if they don’t win a natty this year

Much of the fan base sold tickets due to disgust over UM. Some are still mad

Some fans are really confident now and expect OSU to boat race Oregon and everyone else.

Said some Vols players seemed disinterested

He still wonders if NIL is sustainable as far as team unity. 18-21 year olds don’t see it as a business like NFL player. It would not surprise him if OSU lays an egg next week if egos get in the way.

I said it another thread, OSU played the game of their lives because they were butthurt over a few Tennessee fans doing fan things. The stars aligned for them last night in every way possible, it happens.
Actually he was complementing the Vol fan base. He watched the World Series and was pulling for the Vols and was impressed by UT crowd. Did not believe that the size of Vol fan base was the main motivation, loss to UM still stings

I think Day was also in real danger of being fired if he lost the game after losing to Michigan for the 4th year straight (at home to a mediocre Michigan team at that).

He was literally coaching for his job yesterday while we were just happy to be there.

I kind of wonder if Day beats OSU to the punch and finds another gig. I know OSU is a supposed “blue blood” but Bama, UGA, LSU have all won multiple nattys in the last 20 years while OSU has one if memory serves me correctly. Even Auburn has played for 2, one more than OSU.

Some random thought stream from some OSU fan...exactly what we needed. Vol players seemed disinterested?---BS. They simply got their butts kicked. If this was played at Neyland, it would have been entirely different. Not saying we would have won, but it definitely would have looked different. NCAA wasn't having none of that shiz, tho

The NFL could go after Day after their season ends.

OSU won in 2002 with Tressel and 2014 with Meyer. They are kind of like the Georgia of the SEC - always good, but long periods of not good enough.

Josh Pate had a pretty good take on the game, and the impact of Michigan loss. Basically, they have best talent in CFB, and going into season, they were going to "out physical" every team they played, and took that mentality into Michigan, and just said, we're going to beat you by playing smashmouth football, just because we can. That didn't work, obviously. So, they threw that out the window and decide to use your QB and WRs (who will all be playing on Sundays) and play to your strengths...and provide the extra-large chip on your shoulders of everyone trashing the program b/c they lost to Michigan. Lastly, it didn't impact the outcome of the game, but the weather didn't help us...that extra 5 degrees probably mattered some.

We got exposed that we aren't top tier yet, and lost to a team who, if they play the rest of their games like they played Saturday night, wins the NC...and it's probably that close. None of this de-values the season we had, but it definitely shows we've got a big gap between us and OSU's/UGA's of the world...but we pretty much already knew that.

It’s human nature to be somewhat disinterested after a couple of hours of having your a** handed to you.

The stars mostly aligned because they played a fraudulent team that had no business being in the playoff. Now, our resume was an automatic, but the actual caliber of football we played over the course of the season was mediocre.

Felt similar to UGA 2022. We talked a lot of crap, Ainge called their fans quiet, Stetson Bennettes number was leaked and fans called him nonstop the night before the game. At some point we need to act like we’ve been there before. Don’t need to be giving them any ammo before the game. I get a lot of it was good natured fun, but at a certain point it becomes over the top.

Ohio State was definitely the better team, but I think the score could have been closer without the Injures to Sampson, Thornton and White.

But the difference in the game is that Ohio State dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and that is unacceptable. Pass blocking was all but non-existent and they were only rushing 4 most of the time. At least when Georgia did it they were blitzing linebackers and defensive backs.

Biggest concern was how off our D line seemed. We have 3 guys who are likely being drafted, and we have good depth. Ohio state missing multiple O line starters. I thought if we could reach 20 points we had a good shot at winning.

Ohio State played for the title 06, 07, 14 and 20.

I believe it was a combination of factors why the played out of their minds. 1) Seniors going their entire career without beating Michigan is a stain and they were mad about that. 2) All they’ve heard for three weeks from outsiders is what bums they are. That made them madder. 3) And then to add insult to insult our fan base did something that’s never been done in Columbus before in taking over the town. Already angry that made them madder than hell. Basically we drew a trapped honey badger in the first round.

Because of this I won’t be surprised if they come out flat against Oregon.
