Just want to say thanks to this upcoming recruiting class

This is why VN explodes when we lose. Threads like this need to go away until we can get to a bowl game at least. Not being negative, I'm just tired of everyone expecting big things so soon. It doesn't hurt to dream but geez.

Why shouldn't fans of this university expect big things? You seen Missouri and Auburn's seasons turn around. Why can't a university that has "been there done that" like ours, turn it around? And besides, wth else do we have to talk about since our season is over?

I like the enthusiasm. I just don't like the "lol" against Vandy or the "how is Muschamp still the coach." Let's hope for great things in 2014. Poking fun at teams that have beaten us REPEATedly for years is kind of stupid.

QB - Ferg or Dobbs after an actual offseason
RB - HURD
WR -This year = Worst WR Corp, next year, arguably best
TE - None on roster this year, two studs coming in
OL - Losing talent. Hopefully gaining some testicles.

DT - We had McCullers (not scheme fit) and Hood (who I like a lot, but wasn't stellar IMO) - JUCOs and true DTs coming in.
DE - We had a corp of underachievers here, we have some true beasts coming in
LB - We had AJ Johnson & the slugs trotting around the field this year - we have some SICK talent coming in
DB - Coleman no more.
S - These guys are going to be sick after an offseason and being healthy

UGA - Losing Murray will be huge.
Florida - lol - muschamp - how did they not fire him?
Mizzou - losing 10 starters, including Franklin. That doesn't include juniors who should go, like Josey.
SCJr - Shaw & Clowney gone - .... we still beat them
Vandy - lol
Kentucky - lololololololololol
You lol at a team we haven't beaten in what now, a decade? Then lol at Vandy who has beaten us two years in a row. You're depth chart screams youth and inexperience. The QB situation is no more solved now than it was at the beginning of the season. Yet, you have us going to Atlanta.

The problem I see with that our QBs were recruited for a pro style offense. Butch likes the read option. And people can't figure out why we have trouble on offense this year, :ermm::eek:hmy:

If Butch saw this as an issue, there'd be a QB in this class

I'm lol'ing at a team that will take 1-2 losses next year for their fanbase to implode. I live near a handful of Florida fans, all of them are dumbfounded why Muschamp is still the HC. Think 'Dooley after Kentucky Loss' x100.

Vandy is about to lose their best 3 players on Offense and more than half their Defense.

The point here is that yes, we will be much better next year. This is the best class we've brought in since the 90's heyday.

Also, the East is going to be the weakest next year since we've won a national title. Prime opportunity for a young team to have some fun.

A large portion of these "upgrades" next year have never played a down of major college football.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Some of you guys are so unrealistic that I wouldn't be surprised if you still believe in Santa and the Easter bunny.

When did it become bad to be a true Vols fan and hope for the best for them every game every year?

Maybe some people on this forum should go be bammer fans I hear after 1 loss the kicker is getting death threats.

no reasoning there - counting it as pessimism until I see a valid argument

We are losing the entire offensive line. That alone is enough. Also losing top running back. No good experience returning at QB. The fact that most of the d line is gone should be enough to debunk any of that optimism. Listen, I'm all sunflowers and rainbows, but next year is gonna hurt my anus worse than prison sex.

Lots of "can't miss" recruits in this class, and a few that are sorely underrated by rivals.

A class of incoming true freshmen making a major impact on a football program is rare to impossible at best.

When you are as slow as UT has been, the impact will be noticeable immediately. It will not be a championship team, but it should help pass the eye test for SEC caliber athletes on both sides of the ball. It has been a long time since you could say that.

I don't see a big name that goes elsewhere. Most of the big names are EEs.

You do threads like this to have fun don't you? lol.

I share the enthusiasm and will play along. The coaches need to as well. They need to take the training wheels off and have the players get after it no matter how much experience they have.

The QBs have been in the system enough now. Get Pearson and Malone involved early with North, Pig, DY and Croom. The new O-line will be better for this scheme than the old line that was build for pro style and they have some experience. The D has to be improved - hard to be worse at times than they were. Cam Sutton showed everybody how you can roll with a good freshman talent from Day One on D. And the D is going to be loaded with talent coming in. Use them. Auburn and Ole Miss sure did and we see how they worked out.

before you put your anus up for sex, maybe you should look at this incoming class

5 Star RB

Best DL prospects in a long time, including JUCOs that will fill immediate needs.

Best JUCO class in the nation, per ESPN.

But hey, maybe you like anal sex. If so, I think you may be taking it out of context.

My thoughts - our best 2 players from last year's class (North & Sutton) would have to fight to be top 10 recruits in this year's class.

If Butch can pull two of these classes back to back, we'll have NCAA sniffing around because it's that unusual.

Very well stated.

I'll be glad to say THANK YOU to all our new incoming recruits!!!

I really do appreciate all of them coming to the Hill to work hard and learn systems to help rebuild our footVol team back to National recognition again!

I will not expect raw freshmen to come in and take the SEC by storm in their 1st year but I do expect some better playmakers getting their feet wet and gaining the knowledge and experience that will bring great things before they graduate if bUTch and his staff can keep recruiting this well.

Solid depth and lots of experience are very important but again, THANK YOU, to all those new players that will be wearing Tennessee orange for several years to come!

#BrickbyBrick...GBO...VFL!!!

And none of the other teams in the East are recruiting replacement players or have more proven coaches than Jones apparently in your world.

QB - Ferg or Dobbs after an actual offseason
RB - HURD
WR -This year = Worst WR Corp, next year, arguably best-Exact same players save for Malone and Pearson. Those 2 are not the Best we've ever had the moment they step on campus
TE - None on roster this year, two studs coming inTwo freshmen
OL - Losing talent. Hopefully gaining some testicles.-Mostly unknown and very little experience

DT - We had McCullers (not scheme fit) and Hood (who I like a lot, but wasn't stellar IMO) - JUCOs and true DTs coming in. -No division 1 experience and Freshmen
DE - We had a corp of underachievers here, we have some true beasts coming in-Very showed flashes, should have better depth at least
LB - We had AJ Johnson & the slugs trotting around the field this year - we have some SICK talent coming inAJ could be back, the sick talent coming in are FRESHMEN
DB - Coleman no more.-Coleman will most likely still start
S - These guys are going to be sick after an offseason and being healthy

Talent wise we are improving but it is very unrealistic to rely on freshmen to be responsible for a 1 year turnaround. This is the SEC where everyone is bigger, faster, stronger. These kids need time in the weight room and on the practice field, especially on the lines and linebackers. The JUCOs have to adjust as well, which is why CP is the only one to blow up in his 1st year that we've had. Just give it some time or you'll go crazy.

'14 6 or so wins with some good looking freshmen
'15 challenging for the east with highly talented sophmores / RS frosh and some of the good upperclassmen,
'16 one of the best in the SEC with a stacked junior class.

Go Vols
