Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

Why ? Is that because a liberal majority held Senate would wait to allow the potential new POTUS to have the opportunity to decide if that’s the appropriate appointee ?
Because in 2016 with 250+ days until the election, McConnell wouldn't hold hearings for Merrick Garland

What every Republican senator has said about filling a Supreme Court vacancy in an election year
"McConnell acted differently in 2016. Justice Antonin Scalia died more than eight months before that year's presidential election and McConnell said the Senate should not vote on President Barack Obama's nominee because voters should be given a say by way of choosing the next president."

Let me explain to you, how it was explained to me on here from at least 3 liberal posters , when I asked a similar question about multiple liberal leaders that are on video taking a strong border and illegal immigrants taking American jobs and burdening our health care system position .... Their political position has “ Evolved “ .

I'm curious, would you support a new judge being pushed through if Hillary were president and Dems had a majority in the senate?
I would support it if she was replacing a justice appointed by a dem president and not support it if she was replacing a justice appointed by a rep. president.

You deflected from my question I see . Let me ask again more directly .. would a liberal held Senate majority hold up the confirmation until after Jan. 21, 2021 ?

Hold up the confirmation of a Trump appointee made 6 weeks before an election? I would certainly hope so.

That shouldn’t matter if to you with Trump because he seems to like appointing a constitutionalist judge to SCOTUS . So why wait ... unless you want it to be packed with partisan judges . 👀

What difference does it make which side appoints these non-partisan jurists, who only interpret the law?

Why ? We spend most of our time complaining about congress not doing its job and now you want them to stop doing their jobs ?

When you say constitutionalist I hear right leaning.
It's become a code word that has different meanings to different people.

Nope.

I think a majority of Americans want to have a conservative-leaning but balanced SCOTUS. It just makes sense. A 6-3 court doesn't achieve this goal.

I'm no longer concerned honestly. GOP may or may not jam it through, but I believe the Senate will go 50-50 with tie votes broken by the new VP (Harris). So if we have a 6-3 court, I td will be relatively brief and then the new administration will simply add 4 new SCOTUS judges.

Problem solved.

This seat will absolutely be filled before the election. You can't have an even number of SCOTUS votes with the upcoming mail in ballot BS going on.

Will be filled 100%!

Could u imagine the CC that would occur if something about the election went to the court and it was 4-4?
