Guess it’s possible, but to me highly unlikely CRB would agree with there being any kind of verbiage in a contract.

Maybe a let’s run it by our players and if they agree a trial period. Still unlikely tho. Jmo
Yeah, more like, they developed a relationship around campus and on PR events. Rick was impressed with his basketball knowledge and him, period. An opening popped up and Barnes thought he could get the job done, imo.

That’s a quality addition for a position like that, with him being an experienced coach already. Often that’s a role for younger guys climbing the ladder before getting an assistant on bench coaching role.

I agree with this, probably something akin to getting to know a graduate assistant and coach likes what he see knowledge and leadership wise. Coaches start their journey usually un-noticed until they have a few promotions. He had 6 years DII experience at Glenville State and D1 assistant at Marshall for 1 year.

Kellie got a lot of flak for making her husband a packaged deal with Fulmer. Glad we have real AD that doesn't do that. Agree with the other posters, he was not a Caldwell deal, Barnes hired him legit for his experience. Easy hire, he is already at the school.

it is kinda weird if you look at their resumes from 20-18 to now they have always coached at the same school. Looks like they both played at Glenville State in 2011 and are both from West Va. They got married in 2023 When they were both coaching at Marshall.

Kim
2011–2013 Ohio Valley (assistant)
2013–2016 Sacramento State (assistant)
2016–2023 Glenville State
2023–2024 Marshall
2024–present Tennessee

Justin
2012-13:
Wyoming East HS, assistant coach
2013-16 Glenville State, assistant coach
2016-18 California (PA), assistant coach
2018-23 Glenville State, head coach
2023-24 Marshall, assistant coach
2024-Present Tennessee, player development coordinator
