Well I WILL BE THERE!! I wish I could've been at practice today - I probably would've cried like a baby!

Man, I can't wait for Sat.! Thank heavens I've already met all my work deadlines for the week, I'm so pumped, I can't stand it!

this is amazing. its great to hear that harrell is willing to put his career on the line for a rivalry game like this. the only question is how effective will he be with his injury. either way, this is a huge boost for the defense.

I said in another thread that it would have to be a really bad injury to keep Harrell from playing in the Florida game..

Aren't those bicep tears one of the more painful injuries?

My only fear is that all this emotion will distract the players and wear them out rather than giving them more focus.

It is for the first 4-5 days, then the pain supposedly goes away... they'll put a brace on it and pad it up, and he'll be ready to

Playing is one thing, playing at the same level he was is another.
I hope he can be effective but with a tore biceps, its difficult to imagine it not affecting his play.

WOOOOOO:dance2:

You think our players got pumped when they heard the news? Our D will look like a pack of Pitt Bulls Saturday night.

Hope Foster plays though. That is the only thing that concerns me.

I can already will the electricity in the air.

I agree. I think that it will affect his playing. I do not think he will play the whole game... But one advatage (maybe) would be the fact that with the torn tendon the FL O-line may not focus on him as much. Other guys on the D-Line will get double teamed...And leave him with a better chance to get to Leaky....

At Least its a thought

I'm definitely going to chirp about Harrell at school on Thursday. If he gets an early tackle, the defense will have a ton of momentum.

All I know is a wounded player in his last and one of the biggest college football games could be dangerous.

"I don't think there are any real limitations," Dan Brooks said. "You put a brace on it so that it doesn't bend completely. Part of it is that I have had that injury so I know a little bit about it. It is really painful for three or four days, then once you get through that, there is really nothing until you either get it fixed or you don't. There is a big bruise there, but once you get through the initial pain I don't see any limitations. I don't know how much he will play. We will see. We feel good about it. I am excited for him. His whole thing with me is that coach I have a chance to play one more college football game and help our football team. I am excited for him."

What an incredible mood swing. It's like the whole week just turned on a dime. Simply amazing gesture by a guy who now goes down in UT football lore with the likes of Al Wilson and Jack Reynolds and Steve Kiner....

Just amazing....

I will be there adding my voice to the cheer and hoping that place is so loud and rockin'. I remember days when I was little and the fans would pound the upperdeck with thier feet in unison. That was AWESOME. Hope we can get some of that going on.

Can you imagine how loud the stadium will be if Harrell breaks through the line and buries Leak for a big loss or maybe even causes a fumble. I would take a guess that would be one of the loudest moments that staium would ever see. Players like Harrell are what makes college athletics great.

Go Vols!!!
